taste is chocolaty, burnt malts, some oat. very drinkable , wich is rare for the style i supose.

Thanks to Rune for a great christmas present. Beautiful dark, caramel foam with a dark forceful color. Powerful. A smell of vanilla, coffee and smoke. A delicious sweetness to the taste throughout the mouth. I can also taste the coffee and the smoke. Rich balance and a really smooth finish. Really wonderful. Best beer for a long time.

Poured from a 500ml bottle, thanks to Santa. Notes of bitter chocolate, grain, roasted malts, slight acrid character from the roasted malts. A really nice stout that is prepping me for the Alaskan barley wine festival.

A 2007 bottle in late 2012 - looks great, long head. Plenty of wheat berry, mega raisin fruit and rich deep toffee. Some oxidization. Pretty rich but very drinkable.

Pours black and opaque with a brown head. Aromas of toffee, currant, coffee and dark chocolate. Flavors are primarily light coffee and dark chocolate, with a light body and good carbonation.

Aroma has coffee, well roasted malt, very dark chocolate and licorice. Flavour is rather roasted with coffee notes, licorice, dark chocolate, ashy notes and hints of cocoa. Good!

Dark as night, with a big creamy head that lasts forever. Coffee and chocolate in the nose. Taste of sweet chocolate and dark fruits. Coffee in the finish.

Bottle pours deep black opaque with dark tan head. Aromas of dark malts, pitted fruits, rum, roast, toffee, light anise, caramel, pine, citrus and evergreen. Med full body, med-light carbonation, nice complex tasty blanced malt and hop character with big toasty and toffe malts dominating with a piney citrus hop resinous salty flavour lingering
