"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.

Pours a deep dark black color with light tan head. Dark, roasty, malty, grainy, chocolately aroma. Big roasty, chocolate flavor as well. Very tasty.

Bottle shared at the Animal Bar, Madrid, November 2013. Black, opaque with a mocha colour head. Slightly peaty, dry ash and prunes in the nose, smoky, bitter, ashtray dryness in the mouth. Full bodied, carbonated, slightly dry and ashy finish.

Rich roasted malty goodness. Big pure black poor with slight head remaining. Thick, velvety and not what I expected with the mention of wheat in there.

Not much aroma. Black color, tan foam, full body changes a lot when it warms up, flat, long finish,

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2013 Bottle, Batch 383, 9%. Pours a very dark brown with quickly settling, coarse, orange brown head. Insignificant lacing. Aroma is quite smoky, meaty, bacon/ham, heavily roasted malt, chocolate, mild alcohol. Flavor is sweet up front, roasted mat, chocolate and strong smoke finish. More smokiness and less roast than I had expected, though the roasted character comes out more as it warms. Soft carbonation, medium-full body, and smooth texture. Smoky, rich, enjoyable.

Bottled. Very dark brown pour with a dark brown-orange head, very thick. The aroma is very smoky, with a sweet malty note. The taste is very sweet to start, not very full bodied but smooth. The finish is very malty and light notes of smokey tar. Overall a rich stout, very complex and smokey.

Oily, sweet, sticky, wheaty with some licorice and black cherries. Worth to share with some friends.

Draught, on BBF2012, from my notes...
Deep black liquid with a creamy beige head. Interesting aroma with roasted grasins, some sourish wheat, molasses, candy sugar. Cherries, some liquerice and choclate, ash and earth in the flavor. Finish is slightly bitter with some lurking hops. Fine.

Barreras (971) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - OCT 18, 2013
Pours a deep black color, almost a purple tinge. Aroma is of fruit soaked in alcohol. A tinge of sugar in the taste with an alcohol burn. True double Imperial Stout taste with strong malt flavor and some minor nut flavor. A small batch beer that is unique.

Sweet, smokey, dark, and heavy. Those qualities are represented through every facet of this fine stout. The boozy aroma and flavor are pleasing and smooth. Smoke and malt are intimate friends that hold hands and only excel each other's qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
