"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the íHandí brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.

Bottle at Les Caves, Corvallis. Pours an opaque dark reddish brown/black, just the barest hint of tan head. Aroma is bold, booze-forward, much more than one might guess from the ABV, smoke, dried fruit, caramel, toffee. Body medium-thin, with a smoky, spicy (wheat) finish. Complexity vs ABV is quite impressive, and that indelible Haandbryggiert funk is there, too. Top class.

Bought in Swiat Piwa (World of Beer) in Krakow, PL. Aroma - main are licorice, anise - things like that in the background chocolate. Beautiful color - pours black with nice clear brownish reflexes. High carbonation helps to form med dense head witch disappears completely in few minutes (too bad). Semi dry, rather bitter in taste that generally follows the aroma: licorice, anise, chocolate. Alcohol is rather strong but still in acceptable rate. Body is medium but really oily- good for me a bit overcarbonated (especially with lack of foam). Finnish is rather long, nice bitter, chocolaty, woody. If you like such beers - donít hesitate, but it rater not hits my palate - i lack of chocolate, cofee, balance with alco - perhaps lagering would help - but definitely itís not my best RIS. 50cl bottle purchased from Nordiska ÷lbutiken in Copenhagen. Batch 671. Dark brown and high foam that disappears fairly quickly and leaves no traces on the glass. The drink is dark brown or nearly black. Smell of smoke, tar and damp leather with a hint of alcohol. Smoth and pleasant mouth feel with flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. Distinct taste of alcohol.

"this is a nice change of pace type impy stout. smooth (from the wheat - different feel than usual) and balanced between sweet choclatey malts, a hint of smoke, licorice, and hops. Well done."

Bottle shared with friends. Jet black, probably clear. Small, tan color head. Aroma: Medium intense, chocolate, some vanilla, bit warming alcohol. Taste: Low sweetness with strong, bitter finish. Flavor of bitter chocolate with plum liquor. Oily texture, but carbonation is too high. Very good imperial stout

Draft at SIB07. One of the winners of the afternoon. Thick hints of licorice, roast, and grains on the nose. Similar in flavor with more burnt than roast, molasses, grains, and a singe of booze on the end.

StoutHead (939) - DENMARK - SEP 9, 2014
Bottle. Pours completely black with a fine one-finger light-brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee and roasted malt. Taste is of roasted malts and coffee, darker fruits, burnt sugar, licorice, spices and hops. Short, dry and very roasted aftertaste. Itís got something tart in it too, which I donít like. Full body and average carbonation. Not bad but I donít really think it works super well. Drinkable though.
