COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.

Pours a pitch black color with a thick, brown head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and mild fruityness. Very good flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, tartness and fruity esters with a dry, bitter finish. The wheat helps create a medium bodied, creamy textured beer while the carbonation is medium to lively. Very interesting.

Barwa: czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, znikoma, momentalnie opadająca i utrzymująca się jedynie w minimalnym stopniu na ściankach. Całość gęsta i oleista. Aromat:czekolada, kawa, lekkie melanoidyny oraz wyraźny alkohol. Mimo obietnic nie wyczułem za bardzo chmielu. Były natomiast nuty owocowe (banan) oraz wanilia. Całość bardzo przyjemna i z czasem coraz bardziej złożona. Smak: początkowo czekoladowe i opiekane nuty. Następnie słodycz oraz alkoholowy i chmielowy koniec. Goryczka zdecydowana. Pełny i wyrazisty smak.

Magnum PI says he was almost Indiana Jones. Right. Aloha shirts instead of a bullwhip.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks kerenmk. Black with a big brown head. Roasty aroma of coffee, burnt wood and a bit of cocoa. Bittersweet roasty flavor with coffee, some chocolate, a smoky note and an ashy burnt finish. Rather full-bodied, well-carbonated (a bit too carbonated for the style).

Had hoped for something a little more bitter and slightly more viscous. Too lite for my tastes.

pours very dark brown, almost black, with a creamy beige head, good retention and lacing. chocolate and lightly smoked malts, burnt toasts, some milk chocolate, some dark and spicy fruitiness - dark cherries and berries, some burnt malts and fruits, pine and resin, coffee, ashy dustiness - not the harsh type, some sweetness - burnt molasses under control. average carbonation - slightly foamy but settles quickly, fortunately, medium to full body - oily, boozy, bold grassy-spicy-peppery-piney finish. enjoyed!

Bottle: Pours purple/black with a dark brown head. Strong dark fruit, chocolate aroma. Oatmeal, chocolate, raisin flavour. Roasty, yet very sweet. Not exactly a typical Imperial, but really nice tasting and rich. Heavy fruit, blackberry cobbler taste increases as it warms.... Delicious.
