RAYBOY01 (1654), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 18, 2008 Sampled at El Borracho’s cantina...Pours an attractive roasty black with a substantial, but quickly fading, brown head. The nose is roasted grain and caramel. First impression of the flavor was an odd tartness...either wheat grassiness or a strange off-tasting tartness. Some chocolate and coffee follows. The body seems way too thin for the style as well. Heavy sediment layered in lumps in the bottom of my glass. Not bad, but nothing I would care to repeat (except to find out if that weird sour taste is intentional or accidental!)
Marthinus (57), Denmark Nov 29, 2008 Very nice dark stout, with light brown head, and flavour of chocolate and drak roasted malt trapez (279), Hilleroed, Denmark Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Brandy and dark chocolate in aroma. Very dark brown coour with soft brown head. English liquorice in flavour mixed with some dark chocolate and brandy. Bitter but not overwhelmingly bitter. fredandboboflo (722), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle, best before something in 2010 I think. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, wine-like fruits. Flavor of roasted malt, some alcohol, mild chocolate. Light bodied, bordering on soda-like mouthfeel. Decent, but weird mouthfeel and rather boring. RIXbeer (102), USA Nov 28, 2008 Dark Brown, 3" of cloudy like creamy head. Huge head retention. Cocoa, Wheat and STOUT...Very much a yummy beer. It’s a light tasting stout with a big wheat flavor and a cocoa. Light roasted norwegian heaven. Nice clean smooth mouthfeel. I can drink these till the cows come home....back to the beer....MMMM SO DAMN GOOD! FrankJohansen (2876), Sabro, Denmark Nov 28, 2008 Bottle. Black colour with a huge beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, chocolate and licorice with strong smoked notes. Strong but good.
