COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Double" (imperial) wheat stout.
This imperial really strikes back. From a strange country far, far away, comes the only Imperial Wheat Stout in the known universe. Once again, the ’Hand’ brewery - four guys brewing in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - boldly goes where no brewery has gone before.

Bottle bought in Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. Batch # 60. Brewed in Dec. 06. Pours a pitch black colour with a very nice sticky creamy dark brown stady head leaving a very good lacing. Lovely aroma of dark chocolate, roasty coffee, roasted malt, alcohol, dark fruits and cocoa. Very good thick mouthfeel. The flavour has a very nice roasty maltiness, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, some dark fruits, nice bitter hoppiness and wheat. Roasty bitter dry long lasting finish. Imperial Wheat Stout... well darn nice indeed!

Københavnske Øldage 07. Bottle. It’s a pitch black Impy with a nice, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate and a bit of fruity sourness. The mouthfeel is oily. The flavour has nice notes of coffee, chocolate, licorice and the wheat yeast gives notes of fruit, maybe a bit of banana and a nice fruity sourness, that develops in to a rather pronounced citrussy bitterness. 2197

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense brown head. Chocolate and light grass in the aroma. Some roast and light spice. Flavour has roast, cocoa, chocolate and light coffee. Some herbal notes. A bit bland for an Impy IMO. Medium bodied. Has a light bitter roastyness in the end. Very easy to drink.

Deep chestnut color with a medium tan head that lasts a long time, and leaves good lacing. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Great maltiness with notes of caramel, but not overly sweet; well-balanced. Light spice in the background. Very good body. Excellent brew overall, to be sought after. Best beer of the night at Churchkey.

Koelschtrinker (9999) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 22, 2011
Komplexes, sehr aromatisches Bier – Spitze! 11/13/12/14/12/14

Bottle. Almost black and opague. Coffee and licorice and blackcurrant in the aroma. Creamy, oily bitter flavor with licorice and balckcurrant. Just a bit thin and alcoholic. Powerful stout.
