MatSciGuy (171), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Apr 23, 2008 [bottle] Poured a not quite fully opaque black. Could see through it toward the edges. Decent sized dark brown head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is quite sweet, with some candi sugar. Flavor is caramel malt, with some wheat. Finishes dry.
doppelmeup (48), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 16, 2008 Exceptional looking pour with a very thick, long lasting creamy brown head that never went a way and laced the glass all the way down. Pitch black.
Full bodied and very flavorful without over-top-bitterness. Alcohol very well hidden. The wheat must make it slightly softer and smoother than typical RISs.
Highly recommended! Defreni (442), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 14, 2008 Flaske. Not sure where the wheat aspect of this is found, because if its in there, the stout roast and body drowns it out. Pretty good, but nothing stood out to ever make me go out and buy this. Bragesnak (974), Aarhus, Denmark Jul 14, 2008 From Superbrugsen, Aarhus, DK.
Bottled, 110708.
Black with a lasting beige head. Aroma of liqourice, chocolate and malt. Thick palate of balanced sweetness on dry roasted malt. Tone of wheat and yeasty fruit.
