Bottle. Pours brown with a beige head. Sweet and nutty malts, lighter toasted notes, a hint of chocolate, and floral notes. Good stuff.

jredmond (5655) - Manhattan, New York, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Bottle at Clockwork’s Dec 8th, 2012 tasting. Pours a deep, hazy brownish body with brown lacing. Aroma is strange - light roast, hand soap, flowers and sugar. Mouthfeel is medium, almost creamy with notes of roast, earth, bark, spice, light cocoa and smoke.

Martinus (3062) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - DEC 13, 2012
Brown black colour, beige head. A bit of a gusher. Aroma of caramel, soy sauce and molasses. Light fruity and quite herbal. Rather sweet flavour, caramel, light bitter roasted malts. Salty touch. Finish molasses and lingering light bitter flavours.
(From 50cL bottle @ Colin’s 2nd Tuesday Tasting @ De Molen)

jmgreenuk (4983) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 11, 2012
Bottle at the De Molen second Tuesday tasting. Poured a dark reddish brown colour with almost no head and no carbonation. The aroma is dry yeasty and fruity. The flavour is medium bitter, but very rich, fruity with a slightly metallic alcoholic aftertaste. More like a poor English ale. Not a classic from Norway.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black beer with a small tanned head. Aroma is full of coffee and roast. Some licorice and molasses. Flavor is sweet, very much coffee flavors and silky smooth mouthfeel. Great brew!

Almost clear brown, light brown head. Some coffee, caramel malts, funky hint, seaweed or something salty at least.

Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting at De Molen, hosted by dEnk. Hazy brown pour, thin tan head. Aroma of licorice, brown sugars and a lot of herbs. Flavor is dry bitter and spicy, a bit aged and quite herby. Not really my cup of tea.

Bottle that I took to a tasting at James’s place. Pours a deep brown with a touch of amber to it and a thin to medium sized white head. A bit of isopropyl, cocoa, chocolate, malt, toast. Medium bodied, cocoa, roast, chocolate, malt. Spicy roast. Cocoa. Chocolate. Decent enough I guess.
