The Haandbryggeriet version of Vuur & Vlam.

Fyr og Flamme is a dry hopped IPA in the US style with an exceptional aroma and hop flavours. We use a very special blend of 3 American hops that produce lots of hop flavours. We produce living beer, not pasteurised or filtered.

(Bottle, Lovik, Stockholm, 24 Nov 2014) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with dried apricots, caramel and citrus. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, caramel, apricots and a generous resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well made, tasty and balanced IPA. Nice one.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 50 cl. bottle at Oslo bar. Very hoppy, citrus, elderberry aroma. Small, white head and quite on the still side based on natural fermentaion. Good IPA especially for the hop freaks with the very pregnant American hops (mix not revealed). For my taste a specialty with the extreme hops. But a nice specialty!

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2015 Very bitter far back in the mouth and tongue. Lasts for a very long time, perhaps to long? To bitter with the rest the taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At a tasting, thanks Gunnar, medium bubbly head, hazy orange colour, aroma of herbs, citrus and white fruits with a malty bready backbone, flavour of orange marmalade with some herbs and shrubs, medium bitterness. Very nice and quite balanced.

Sampled from a bottle purchased at Gardermoen on a recent trip to Oslo. The colour is a cloudy orange-gold, with a tight off-white head. Excellent carbonation, and the aroma of hops hits you as soon as the bottle is opened. Wonderful hop flavours in the taste with a great citrus hit of lemon, grapefruit and Rose’s Lime Marmalade. Also nice hints of fresh pine needles. The genius of this beer is that the citrus notes are rather soft and sweet and not astringent, and blend into the other flavours really well. There is a long finish which includes malt, pine, lime and grassy herb tastes. A truly great IPA. Highly recommended.
