3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50 cl. bottle at Oslo bar. Very hoppy, citrus, elderberry aroma. Small, white head and quite on the still side based on natural fermentaion. Good IPA especially for the hop freaks with the very pregnant American hops (mix not revealed). For my taste a specialty with the extreme hops. But a nice specialty!

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2015 Very bitter far back in the mouth and tongue. Lasts for a very long time, perhaps to long? To bitter with the rest the taste.

Pours clear and golden orange with a frothy white head. Aroma of hops, citrus and pine. Medium body, creamy feel, lively carbonation. Spicy taste with lots of tasty hops, a touch of sweetness and a dry/bitter finish of grapefruit.

At a tasting, thanks Gunnar, medium bubbly head, hazy orange colour, aroma of herbs, citrus and white fruits with a malty bready backbone, flavour of orange marmalade with some herbs and shrubs, medium bitterness. Very nice and quite balanced.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from a bottle purchased at Gardermoen on a recent trip to Oslo. The colour is a cloudy orange-gold, with a tight off-white head. Excellent carbonation, and the aroma of hops hits you as soon as the bottle is opened. Wonderful hop flavours in the taste with a great citrus hit of lemon, grapefruit and Rose’s Lime Marmalade. Also nice hints of fresh pine needles. The genius of this beer is that the citrus notes are rather soft and sweet and not astringent, and blend into the other flavours really well. There is a long finish which includes malt, pine, lime and grassy herb tastes. A truly great IPA. Highly recommended.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Gunnar - many thanks to you! The beer has got a hazy amber colour with steady head and medium body. Wonderful aroma of fresh hops, pine, citrus fruits and coriander. Even better taste of fresh hops, spruce, pine, herbs, gentle spices, citrus fruits, mild honey and mandarinas. Light flowery hints. Dry-bitter finish. This beer is wonderful and very quaffable to drink. Enjoyed it a lot.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A big scum ring lies on the meniscus in the bottle, the body still hazy even after a long cold storage with a thick yeast pack on the base. Misty, sunny orange body with a mountainous two inches of white atop. Head is cheerfully held proud and weaves a mean lace. Notes of toffee’d fruit, candy, fresh baked white bread, lemon balm and honey swirl amongst spicy, sharp stonefruit on the oflactories. Hoppy, pleasantly raw and spicy on the palate with a rounded bitter stonefruit flavour in back and fleeting pinewood in the finish. Unexpectedly light in body whilst cool it opens up substantially after a few minutes. Sweet toffee brittle and honey notes upfront with a touch of real, old fashioned marmalade. A lemongrass, citrussy zing tickles the sides of the tongue fuelled by moderate carbonation that softens greatly as it heads past the tonsils. Grainy, toasted malt notes keep it level and it melds well with all that is going on. This is a pleasing brew that holds the 6.5% well under wraps. But then again I’m yet to find a Haandbryggeriet brew that wasn’t altogether pleasing. Nice!!! (50cL, BB 01/12/14, The Liquor Shed, Jandakot)
