The Haandbryggeriet version of Vuur & Vlam.

Fyr og Flamme is a dry hopped IPA in the US style with an exceptional aroma and hop flavours. We use a very special blend of 3 American hops that produce lots of hop flavours. We produce living beer, not pasteurised or filtered.

Smell is grapefruit and hint of pine. Look appealing with a dark golden colour and a pretty thick head. Taste is balanced with a sweetness that is replaced with the grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Good, mild carbonation makes this a highly drinkable ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Week 11. Orange gold with an initially enthusiastic modest white foam. Quite a lipsmacker. Nose of Oakham Citra-like pissy greenery, leafy tropical fruit, mandarin and dragon fruit. Stewed green-then-pink-then orange flavour of mandarins in syrup swished with bunches of silvery haired green stems and tomato vine. Geraniums? Some soggy biscuit, peach and pollen leaning over the Atlantic. Bottle from Bergen airport.

Good malty aroma, ice hops too. Palate quite light to. Nice full malty body, super bitter hop finish. Nicely tingly. That’s a very drinkable IPA, has everyithing in good balance, and is well attenuated.

0,5l bottle from Flesland. Caramel brown colour (toffee), off-white caramel head. Hoppy, fresh aroma. Some yeast and mango. The flavour hits with a slight bitterness, less than expected, a hint of citrus and mango, but little else. Not as fresh as I’d hoped. A slight disappointment.

On tap at Ølhallen, pours a clear copper with a medium white head. Nose is very fruity, with orange rinds, resinous hops and caramel. Flavour is well-balanced and robust, with resinous hops, spiciness, citrus rinds, and a bready caramel malt backbone. Full of flavour with no harsh edges. Very nice stuff.

(Bottle, Lovik, Stockholm, 24 Nov 2014) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with dried apricots, caramel and citrus. Malty, fruity taste with notes of orange peel, caramel, apricots and a generous resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well made, tasty and balanced IPA. Nice one.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2015 50 cl. bottle at Oslo bar. Very hoppy, citrus, elderberry aroma. Small, white head and quite on the still side based on natural fermentaion. Good IPA especially for the hop freaks with the very pregnant American hops (mix not revealed). For my taste a specialty with the extreme hops. But a nice specialty!
