4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Batch 49, brewed 10.10.06. Best before 30.04.11.
Hand trade from johnmichaelsen..lugged from the Eastern US to the Pacific NW...excellent - and thank you!
Dark reddish brown with a little head that leaves slim to no head. Smells of tart sourness Flavor brings along a nicely balanced sour that does not smack your face off, but still brings that sour tweak. Drinks easily and a nice brew for any sour fan.
Excellent beer to pre-day pre-funk for a day of sours.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours like a cola, dark brown with a head that fades away in seconds. There’s a fair amount of sweetness in both the aroma and flavour. Flavour also has some balsamic vinegar sweet and sour notes. Woody dryness in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep, earthy red with almost now head. It has a strong aroma of wine and earth with some funk and sourness. The flavor is slightly sweet wine and fruit with a long, sour aftertaste over a medium body.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aucune surprise, bref.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Novare Res Portland, me. Pours ruby hued, quick foam cream hued head that leaves zero lacing. Some cherries, plums. Medium body with an acidic finish. Hope I can find my car after this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque amber/burgundy with a small beige head. Aroma is sour and vinous. Taste is red wine, wood, and sour dark fruits. It’s extremely tart and acetic, but has some sweetness to balance things out. I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, but after sipping for some time, I found it to be most agreeable.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma: sweet, fruity and tart; Appearance: very dark ruby red with thin head that dissipates quickly; Taste: extremely tart that finishes with sourness; a bit overwhelming; Palate: medium body with long, tart/sour finish; Overall: pretty good but too tart for me. Would not buy again.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. This is a great beer. Sharp, tart, and flavorful. Very sour. Among the better sour red/brown beers around. No complaints.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.5 bottle. Hazy, dark brown color and a small, off-white head. Aroma is vinous, acetic, yeasty, sour. Taste is obviously sour, once again acetic, a tad fruity. A medium body, a slick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is even sourer than the rest, introduces strong notes of wood. Overall the beer is definitely too sour to be drinkable; however, I do enjoy feisty brews with flavors full of character. This one certainly falls into this category without offending.
