This beer was brewed in sept. 06 and has since then been aged in oak barrels until bottling on March 22. 2008. The beer is blended for roundness but is still very sour and a little bit acetic. We think our first attempt has been a great success and we will definitely try this again.

(500ml bottle) Pours a thick chewy murky reddish brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of sour cherry, cocoa, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor of caramel malt, cherry, barrel, toffee, port, brown sugar, and chocolate with a dry finish. Very nice! Looking forward to trying another bottle of this unique sour.

Draft to stemmed sour glass. Looks good; a slightly translucent mahogany with off-white lacing. Smells solid; acetic with notes of oak and cherry. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. The carbonation is softer than I’d prefer, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless.

Tap Iron Abbey. Mahogany with no head. Sour earthy notes in the nose. Quite acidic, thin palate, minimal fruit profile and very dry. I’m glad to have had a shot at this.

Cudowne wytrawne czerwone wino i waniliowo - bananowy budyń, wspaniale zharmonizowane. W smaku bezkompromisowe, wyraźna kwaskowość o nieco octowym charakterze, bardzo winne, lekkie wiśnie, wyraźna wanilia, wytrawne, z eleganckim, kwaskowym finiszem. Dobrze przykryty alkohol, czuć lekkie rozgrzewanie dopiero w żołądku. Czy to jeszcze piwo? Jeszcze jak! Super!
