HaandBic is our first beer in the style of a fruit iambic with added red currents and Lingonberry. We have naturally also added a lambic style yeast blend incl bacteria and yeast of different types. Then this concoction has been aged in oak barrels for almost 18 months. The beer gets its tartness from both berries and the concoction we added. It will most certainly develop further given time

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of joergen. Pours an almost clear reddish orange with a small off-white head. Wonderful tart aroma, quite some Brett and barnyard as well as red berries. Medium body, low carbonation, tart fruity notes, again Brett and barnyard with a vague underlying sweetness. Tart - not sour, but overall very nice. 200710

Bottled, thanks Rune! Hazy amber, no head. Sweaty citrus mixed with lingonberries in the aroma. Lemony sourness with some malt sweetness undeneath. Chalky with blown up, almost plastic mouthfeel. Notes of canteloupe with a peculiar funkiness. Hugely interesting, but more confusing than tasty.

Lightly hazy amber beer, a few short lived pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Sour start, some balsamic vinegar and a Flemish Red character. Mild lemon acid. Trace of smoke on the back end. Light crisp finish. More vinegar and acid on the linger. A bit on the sharp side for my tastes.
