3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with a frothy, clingy-lacing off-white head. Has a unique lightly smoky, herbal grassy nose with mild caramel sweetness and a touch of hay and citrus. Starts with pretty good fullness and fine carbonation with a touch of sweet doughy malts and some juniper berries with an herbal bitter hop note and some grassy smoke. Finishes dry, bitter and earthy. An interesting and fairly complex brew, that reminds me of raking leaves on a cool autumn day.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Oak Tree. Pours a very hazy amber with a 4 finger foamy off-white/yellowish head. Aromas of smoke and fir. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is pronounced smoke, wood, malt, and some sort of herb that functions like hop to cut the sweet, but suggests fir twigs. I think these Norskis just grab whatever’s growin’ nearby and toss it in. Works damn well too. Finishes smoky, mildly malty and something herby. Am wandering whether this is a gruit type. Their website doesn’t indicate such, but see notes below from website.
Notes: "a blend of barley, oats and rye";

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours orange amber with a nice beige head and floral malty aroma. This is a very refreshing beer, with a strong smoked malt flavor and some kind of spice that I can’t identify. An interesting brew.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle@Home. Sweet, sparkling, full and smoked with a nice bitterness to be short. When warming up the caramel malts and juniper gets more dominant. Very well balanced and flavourful beer that feels more alcoholic than the 6.5% mentioned on the bottle. Lovely stuff!
