Crushed with Jakebra. Jakebra says it’s a near drain pour. Bottle is definitely old. Very musty, cloying flavor with hardly any hop nose to speak of. Compare this to Redhook IPA, it’s pretty good. Compare to a generic IPA, it kinda sucks.

50cl bottle, Batch 145. Thick head, dark orange body. Aroma of Citrus fruit, roasted malt, and some caramel. Very soft mouthfeel. Loads of florals and citrus on a musty toasted malt. More like an English Pale, although still wonderful. 6,4,6,3,13

Kind of an odd duck; not bad, but not great. Bottle started foaming over after opening. Poured with a huge, foamy, frothy, tan head that rapidly settles down to a light spotty cover and a little lace. Color is a cloudy, medium amber. Aroma is spicy, malt, caramel, hops, yeast, pungent. Flavor is like nose. Yeast stands out, even a tiny bit fishy. Good body and excellent carbonation. Finish is like flavor with a surprise of slight sweetness. Good burps. Reminds me of a cross between a pale ale and a farmhouse. Not a quaffer.

Langer (muffig-) hopfiger Nachgeschmack. Test vom 10.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,9,9,8,12,9 - 9,40

Aroma is heavy on berries, hinting at acidity/tartness. The appearance is very dark brown and very heavily sedimented. The flavor is of complex fruit, berries again, and hops. This was a very interesting beer with a sweet/sour flavor to it, although it’d be better described as a different style because this doesn’t have the dry hop bite that the good IPAs have.

Dark orange pour without much of a head, light collar. Aroma was sweet, slightly floral, somewhat piney, bits of caramel. Flavors consisted of rich caramel malts, good bit of sweetness, light floral hops. Just about no bitterness here. Smooth mouth, light carbonation. Not too shabby, a different take on the IPA here...

Tap at Amundsen. Copper clear, thin white head with large bubbles. Smells of grapefruit and flowers. Taste of roasted malts, caramel and fruity citrus. Feel is quite normal with hints of water. Bitter finish feels a bit more like a ESB, some citrus and flowers in finish
