COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a collaborate brew with Erlann Eldorsen based on his recipe. Kreklingøl is made with crowbrerries, a very special berry that is picked in Finnmark, the part of Norway north of the Polar circle. The beer is very refreshing with a reddish hue from the berries.

Editor’s note: hey, crowberries are common in most of Norway and can even be found at Rejkjær Sande in Denmark.

Tasted on tap @Grove Inn, on 03/11/2012. Pours of muddy brownish/velvety color, with a gorgeous caramely white head. Aroma is so beautifull, very intense, having loads of lovely berry tartness mixed with biscuits - that distinct crownberry character. Taste just beats you up with its complexity, mildly sour upfront, then going into the berries' world, following by a sweet, malty theme. Recommended+ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, courtesy of Palme. Pours amber color, beige head. Aroma is sourish, red fruits, hints of honey. Taste is sourish, lightly bitter, fruity, caramel, bit yeasty. Quite overcarbonated.

Bottle from Sugaya, aged 2-3 years shared at Ajen’s farewell party. 7.1% It pours a cloudy amber, crazy gusher. The nose is sour, fruity berries. Very smooth full bodied beer. Earthy, caramel, a bit musty, berry notes giving me blueberry vibes. Great beer. In the nose it is quite sour, but in the mouth it is incredibly smooth.

500 ml bottle. Pours a fairly bright dark reddish color with a medium white head, some slow creeping. A fresh interesting nose of berries, some Flemish sour like notes. The flavor is more fresh earthy tones with big berries, pine, some sweet brown malts, caramel. I really enjoy this. The cowberries are unique and tasty. A bit like sweeter cranberries.

500ml bottle, amber-red color, with a frothy big bubbly beige head, with a mild earthy wildberry, leathery, dusty, spicy nose, with some kind of light dried elderberry, juniper, currant fruity notes, and with some blueberry jam, blueberry muffin, toasted, faint caramel, pale malt accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, faint funky, earthy, musty red acidic berry, light toasted, caramel, pale, rye malty character, with a soft juniper, dried blueberry, elderberry, currant, crowberry fruity sweetness, spiced flavours, leading towards a yeasty, earthy mild sweet dired elderberry, juniper, crowberry, faint acidic wild red berry, lingering toasted, caramel maltiness finish.

Pours dark reddish copper with an off-white head. Smells like fruit juice, with blueberry and red berries. Slightly malty and yeasty. Taste is more berries, cranberry-ish, dried blueberry, dusty, yeasty, malty. Slightly tart bitterness that mirrors the cranberry note. Makes sense I guess, because crowberries are in the same family. Pretty light bodied. This was a pleasant fruit beer with something different to offer, but I was ultimately a little underwhelmed.
