COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a collaborate brew with Erlann Eldorsen based on his recipe. Kreklingøl is made with crowbrerries, a very special berry that is picked in Finnmark, the part of Norway north of the Polar circle. The beer is very refreshing with a reddish hue from the berries.

Editor’s note: hey, crowberries are common in most of Norway and can even be found at Rejkjær Sande in Denmark.

The colour of the beer is brown, off-white head. Aroma is sort of sour, berries and fruits. I’ve never tried crowberries, but I guess that’s what’s present in the taste, a moderately sour berry taste. I thought this was a good beer. (Bottle)

Unclear reddish of color with an off white head. An aroma of fruit, hops, weak sweets. A flavor of fruits, dry notes and bitter red berries.

from erzbierschof - cloudy reddish-brown beer with a little beige foam left; aroma of brown sugar, berries and hints of vinegar; full-bodied and highly carbonated; quite dry and with some acidic tones; long aftertaste of berries and other red fruits

500mL bottle. Pours hazy red with a small but persistent off-white head. The aroma is sweaty, tart and a little fruity. Not a lot going on in the flavour, a little malt and fruit, very slightly woody, low sweetness, ending with citrus peel. Light bodied, lively carbonation, quite a dry finish.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. A nice red pour with a small off white head. Aroma is slight cherries and sourness followed by lemon zest and wood. Not half bad on the nose, unfortunately not followed through in the taste. Rough and sour. Lots of sharp tang which it finishes with. Not my kind of thing

500ml bottle. Red in colour with a soft light red tinged head and cherry pie aromas. Intese cherry like flavour and light in the mouth with a well balanced aftertaste.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep ruby brown, with a large, foaming pink-tinged white head, which lasts very well. The nose shows berry notes, with a touch of grainy malt. An initial sweet, fruity taste is soon swamped by a combination of mild leafy hops and a sour, fruity flavour which I assume to be crowberry. This mixes delightfully with burnt caramel malt to create an unusual sweet-sour mix in the body. The sour crowberry flavour lingers well into a long finish, complemented by a touch of rye bread at the end. This certainly is another unusual beer from Haandbryggeriet, yet it works wonderfully, and is an extremely refreshing drink. I would make it a regular summer tipple, were it not so hard to get.
