Bottle, at the brewery. More or less clear, just a little haze. Amber in color and topped by a thin layer of off-white bubbles. Quite fruity aroma, very smooth, with the crowberries quite evident. Smooth, tart and dry on the palate, with berries and some lemony sourness hints. Fruity, berryish finish. A refreshing beer that maybe was a bit young. 111015

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of biscuit malt, as well as some cherries, grapes and light funk. The flavor is a little bit more complex than the aroma. I get a lot of vinegar and acetone, as well as some leather and tobacco notes. There is also a little bit of cherry and grape notes, but they are hidden in the background. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Smells of a flemish ale. More vinegary than tart. Lots of berry flavor...in particular taste big strawberry notes.

Bottle. Pours red. Nose/taste of tart berry, caramel, cherry vinegar, old wet wood and musk. Some hints of bandaid off notes in background early in the bottle. These off notes went away after mixing in the sediment at the bottom. Light acidity. (My rating is with the sediment mixed in and the off notes gone) Medium body.

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Clear reddish pour with a brief fizz and decent lacing. Fairly understated nose, deep berry and dank musty wood back by a relatively contained acetic quality. Just enough carbonation in the mouthfeel to evoke the modest pepper and spice that blend well with the tartness and fruitiness. Nothing world-beating, and not as complex as desirable, but a decent sour.

Pours amber in color with a small white head. The nose is very fruity with a definite berry aroma. A moderate tartness, a bit of vinegar, and some lactic notes, as well. There is a mild funk, mostly straw and grass, maybe some musty oak. The flavor is very similar to the aromas. Lots of berry and fruit notes with a bit of vinegar and oak. Slightly tannic and dry on the finish.

Congratulations, HaandBryggeriet, this is a very good sour! It’s a ruby coloured beer with surprisingly little carbon and hardly any head or lacings. This one is quite balanced out, but the the sourness is obviously the main feature. Even though I’m from Norway, I don’t think I’ve ever had a crowberry, I’d imagine they taste a bit like blueberries from the taste of this beer. (Bottle)

Murky red color with no head. Tart berry skin aroma. Mild grainy flavor. Very tart berry flavor. Never had crowberries, so I can’t say for certain that it tastes like them, but it seemed to be somewhere around a blueberry/blackberry realm.
