3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ComradeK (749) - Blue Mountains, - JAN 20, 2013500ml bottle. Pours a murky chestnut amber, with a tiny and rapidly fading off-white head, which leaves no lacing. Sour funky notes, some sweeter woodiness and an astringent fruit smell make up the aroma. It is quite strongly sour up front, with a sweeter, woody balsamic vinegar flavour coming in to moderate that a little. There is an astringent, slightly bitter fruity flavour, which I assume to be crowberries, coming into the mid-palate. It finishes with a refreshing sourness. I admit that I don’t really know what I’m tasting for here, but the crowberries don’t seem to be a major feature of this beer. That said, it is a pleasant sour ale, and excellent refreshment on an incredibly hot summer evening.

Asa’s Pre-Flight Tasting Beer #3. Totally random selection by Asa from Five Points Bottle Shop in Athens. Pours Mid-Brown with a tinge of red and no head. Scent is reminiscent of apple cider. Flavor is more vinegar than tart. Bitter finish. Beer is completely flat. Not sure if that is by design. Bottle - Five Points Bottle Shop - Athens, GA

Bottle shared at EricTeusink tasting. Pours a dark amber with zero head. Smell is crisp maltinees, cherries, earthy. Taste is medium tart, hint of plastic, cherries and I berry I guess I will say is a cloudberry, although I have never had such a fruit. Light palate that is begging for some carbonation.

8th June 2012 Cloudy amber beer, short lived off white head. Fruity nose, mildly sour and a little floral. Crispy palate, semi dry. Pretty sour when very cold it mellows as it warms. Interesting fruit. A little sherbetty. Whisper of smoke. Slight medicinal note. Semi dry finish. Crowberries are different and this is unusual!
