COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
London Porter - has a lot to offer your tastebuds, this porter includes generous amounts of chocolate malts to render a mild roasty flavour but still a nice intensity. In addition we use balanced amounts of crystal malts and flavouring hops for a good fruitiness and aroma. To be served at 9-12 degrees C. Bottle conditioned - unfiltered and unpasteurised, no artificial carbonation. (Not to be confused with the stronger Haandbryggeriet Porter.) Pours a slightly hazy orangey-brown, and a handsome, tan head forms nicely on top, where it remains for quite a while and leaves a satisfying lacing along the edge of the glass. Aromas on the nose are very mild, and mostly non-descript roasty malts. Aromas in the mouth are mainly hops and a mild coffee, with a nice hint of hazelnuts. The taste is slightly sweet, and with a nice, somewhat dry, finish. The mouthfeel is very soft, due to the low carbonation. Haandbryggeriets London Porter is mild, and perhaps not interesting, taste- and aroma-wise, but it is a nice session beer, and I bet it would be a great way to introduce those who prefer pale lagers to darker beers.

Bottle from the Mini Pris in downtown Alesund. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy broken light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, toffee caramel, coffee, grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a light grass hop pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A superb flavour packed beer. More like a black IPA than a porter for me though.

Coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and hay in the aroma. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a OK porter, but a bit boring.

This beer is to be had at my local shop. Haand Bryggeriet is one great brewery. Test of caramel, coffee, roasty, Looks black, minimal head, medium sourness, thick feel, soft carbonation, astringent.

Dark brown pour with a healthy brown head. Major bitter chocolate and roasted coffee in the aroma. Delicious bitterness in the taste, but not too lingering.

Bottle, batch #605. Deep brown to black color with red notes, tiny light brown head, quickly disappearing. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate is present in aroma and taste. Earthy and fruity notes in the taste. Thin body, soft carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Not bad considering the low ABV.
