COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
London Porter - has a lot to offer your tastebuds, this porter includes generous amounts of chocolate malts to render a mild roasty flavour but still a nice intensity. In addition we use balanced amounts of crystal malts and flavouring hops for a good fruitiness and aroma. To be served at 9-12 degrees C. Bottle conditioned - unfiltered and unpasteurised, no artificial carbonation. (Not to be confused with the stronger Haandbryggeriet Porter.) Scandinavian Beer Night. Thanks to Akevitt. Dark brown color with no head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Smoky taste, fading a bit into roasted malt and a dark chocolate. Lovely.

Bottle at home. Pours a very hazy black colour with a small cappuccino-like head. A fantastic aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and feels a bit sweet. A proper english-style porter this one. I find the the coffee and dark bitter chocolate in the flavour too, and with some berries. Light and slick mouth feel with a light to medium bitterness. This is a surprisingly easy-drinking beer but at the same time rich, powerful and tasty.

500ml bottle. Its good to see other styles than pilsner in the grocery stores. So I had to try this one out! It pours deep brown-black with a little head. Aromas of roasted malts, barley and some faint hops. Flavors of roastiness, some toffee, dark chocolate and barley. It’s a decent porter for being 4,5%. A nice everyday porter.

50cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some burned/smoked aroma, chocolate, coffee, caramel and dried fruits. Surprisingly much aroma. Lot of flavour, and very tasty. Dry and slightly bitter finish. I wasn’t quite convinced the last time I tried it, but this time it was very nice. Definitely one of the best Norwegian beers below 4,75% in my opinion.

Bottle, batch 371. Pours pitch black, with an almost extreme, dark head. Aroma is chocolate, sweet tobacco, raisins and some dark fruits. Body is somewhat thin, with lots of carbonation. Some sour notes in the flavour due to the burned malts, but also dark chocolate, nuts and some coffee. A dry finish.

0,5 Bottle @ home Batch 412. Pours very dark brown with a three fingers brown head that lasts and leave a good amount of lacing. Chocolate and coffe to the nose. Medium body with a soft carbonation and a very long nice finish. This is one of the best beers you can buy in a supermarket in Norway (max 4,7% abv) and Haandbryggeriet have made a very good low alcohol porter.
