COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We make x-mas beers beers with the good old traditional flavour from the days when the old farm breweries made dark, hearty, earthy beers with lots of x-masy flavours. We make living beer, not pasteurized nor filtered. 7% alcohol, supplied in 50 cl bottles an d 30 liter kegs.

Tap at Iron Abbey. Dark with thin head. Big rich flavor. Roasty and a hint of alcohol. Thin palate. Roast lingers. Nose is malty.

Dark brown pour at ChurchKey. Slight light tan head. Smoky and somewhat bitter in the finish. Some dark fruit in the middle, but very strong bitterness in the finish.

On draft at ChurckKey during its Christmas Beer tap takeover. Pours a hazy cola brown with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of dark fruits with a hint of chocolate. Flavors follow suit. Medium bodied, bitter finish.

Bottle batch 611. Juniper touches and berry-ish dark malts combine with a yeasty mustiness that suggests English yeast with a fruitiness that suggests American. But maybe the hops are English and the yeast is American, because the fruitiness bleeds over into booze hooch juice territory, there’s definitely a lot of alcohol in the aroma for a 7% beer. Or maybe it’s the gum and resin smell of the hops, maybe it’s a flavoring or additive. It doesn’t seem adjunct-ed. The medium-full body is nice, the malt is savory and the carbonation is a slow, crawling effervescence. But that joy is washed away by an abusive bitterness which only masks the absurd level of sugar in this beer. It’s still too sweet for it’s size no matter how many hops you add. Under-fermented and over-hopped. I think without the assertive fruit and resin hop character it could be something to enjoy, but it falls short of the latest batch of Bestefar, which is my favorite beer of the winter after 4 bottles so far.

Bottiglia 50cl, comprata da grand cru Rimini e bevuta a casa. Marrone scura senza schiuma. Carbonazione leggerissima, corpo un po' acquoso. On tap at Frisco Tap House & Brewery in Columbia, MD. Opaque, very dark mahogany with a small khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, licorice and plums.
