Caramel, wood, smoke and hints of spices and pine in the aroma. Dark brown with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a average to soft carbonation. Overall a really good brew, lots of flavour, full body and some warming alcohol in the back.

Bottle bougth at Apollon platebar. Smells like good roasted christmas meat. Taste like roasted coffee beans, ribbs. Carbonated feeling.

Dark deep brown with a thin light beige head. Nice slightly smokey and slightly cocoa nose with a touch of holiday spices and a wee touch of pine. Nice earthy sweet flavor with some dark sweet smalts, a touch of smokiness, a little bit of pine bitterness and finishing with earthy smokey malt.

(Bottled June 2014) Medium to deep, slightly reddish brown. Nice and medium lasting, light beige head. Nose: Medium sweet nose with caramel, coffee, rich maltiness, green and brown cardamom, cinnamon. Taste & palate: Medium to full bodied. Lightly sweet, medium bitterness. Some creaminess and fruitiness. Fairly fresh and balanced for its 7% ABV. The nose is the best part of this 5 month old bottling which I think have potential for further improvement and "harmonisation" with another few months in the bottle.

500ml bottle purchased at Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida. Dark brown, near black in colour with a thin lasting tan head, light lacing. Aroma is of chocolate, caramel, some spice, fruit cake, molasses. Flavour is sweet, some light spice, chocolate cake, cherries, dark fruits. Sweet and malty mouthfeel, medium/large body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, sweet and quite malty. This is really good, excellent spice integration.

There is a lot of dark malt, noticably chocolate malt, in this beer. Lots of character in this beer. Quite nice, but a tad too sweet for me. There is the house flavour in this beer as Iíve learned to recognize in their other beers.

Bottle, 10C. Dark brown with an inch of light tan head that laces well. Earthy aroma with mohca, mild roast, dark sugars and hints of fruit, nuts, vanilla. Soft, medium-bodied. Sweet and soft at first with mocha and nuts, stewed dark fruit, then roasted and spicy bitter flavours come to the fore. Some of that "other" coriander flavour you get in some Scots beers like Jacobite Ale. Hearty and rustic. Good stuff.

I think this is my favorite haandbry... Whatever beer yet. Sweet bubblegum and dried fruit aromas. Some warm spice notes too. Flavors are thankfully the same... Sweet and smooth. Excellent.

tap at Dash In a couple months ago, said they stored this keg for three years - This near black beer has an aroma is of roast malt, coffee, smoke, and licorice. The flavor is big on the roast malt with notes of light smoke and chocolate. Itís full bodied with a long, roasty finish. I didnít get much spice. It seems closer to a stout than anything, but itís very good regardless. Maybe my palate is off or maybe the years have subdued the spice. Very enjoyable though.
