Bottle, batch 498. Blackish with thicker brownish head. Lots of herbs and clove in the aroma. Medium body some sweetness with light bitterness. Smooth finish with lots of spicies. A good christmas/winter beer but in smaller amounts.

Flaska från Oslo, tack frun! Mörkbrun vätska med lågt skum. Doftar av kryddor, bröd och frukt. Kryddig smak med tydlig chokladfond. Haand kan ibland vara egensinniga men denna överraskade positivt.

Black brown body with clear dark ruby tones, tan head, rich crocheted lacing. Aroma; fruity hops, dark juicy malts, dark fruits, possibly prunes, sweet liquorice. Taste; soft juicy hops, dark dark malts, liquorice, fermented prunes, leads to a finish with dark chocolate, herbs and dark malts, lingering. Feels well bodied. Overall a very tasty evening sipper, sweet enough for yule-nisse-dad, yet with hops not totally forgotten. [50cl brown btl, abv7%, #783 BB28.07.17, B@vinmonopolet Langnes Tromsø 9€ T@höme]

Bottle; 500ml; courtesy of MadMItch76; batch number 191! An oldie! Appearance is black and opaque with a nice dark brown head. It simmers down to the edge-of-the-glass. Aroma is interesting. Old spices; cinnamon; clove; hey; grass; woody notes; some more spices. Taste is leather; chocolate; christmas cake; panettone; figs. dates, prunes, old leather, spices and coriander. An interesting and well-made Christmas beer. Slightly oxidised but it’s aged very gracefully. Great work from a top Norwegian brewery.

Caramel, wood, smoke and hints of spices and pine in the aroma. Dark brown with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a average to soft carbonation. Overall a really good brew, lots of flavour, full body and some warming alcohol in the back.

Bottle bougth at Apollon platebar. Smells like good roasted christmas meat. Taste like roasted coffee beans, ribbs. Carbonated feeling.

Dark deep brown with a thin light beige head. Nice slightly smokey and slightly cocoa nose with a touch of holiday spices and a wee touch of pine. Nice earthy sweet flavor with some dark sweet smalts, a touch of smokiness, a little bit of pine bitterness and finishing with earthy smokey malt.

NORSAND (36) - - NOV 11, 2014
(Bottled June 2014) Medium to deep, slightly reddish brown. Nice and medium lasting, light beige head. Nose: Medium sweet nose with caramel, coffee, rich maltiness, green and brown cardamom, cinnamon. Taste & palate: Medium to full bodied. Lightly sweet, medium bitterness. Some creaminess and fruitiness. Fairly fresh and balanced for its 7% ABV. The nose is the best part of this 5 month old bottling which I think have potential for further improvement and "harmonisation" with another few months in the bottle.
