Dark brown/black color; Medium creamy body; Aroma of toasted sweet malt, yeast, caramel, dark fruit, & some coffee notes; Flavor of slight roasted sweet malt, caramel/molasses, dark fruit, licorice, coffee, and dark chocolate; Finish is slightly tangy; Pretty decent.

0,5 Bottle. Fruity, sweet aroma, dried fruit, some roast malt. Roasted flavour, dried fruit, coffee. Sweetish and slightly salty. Fresh coffee aftertaste. Nice christmas beer from Haand

50 cl bottle. Batch 307.Pours dark brown with a large creamy brown head that just stays there. Leaves nice lacings.Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and some malt and spice notes. Flavor is very complex and leaves a very long nice bitter finish. Full body, oily texture, medium bitterness and medium to low carbonation. One of top 3 norwegian christmas ales.

Robust, smoky, oily aroma has a firm overtone of spice, mainly cinnamon and ginger with more than a smidgen of licorice. It pours an opaque, warm coffee brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled light tan head. Hearty, malty flavor has licorice, honey, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and caramel notes of various strengths. Each sip seems to be a little different. Texture is firm and smooth, if not too fizzy. Makes any day Christmas - or Yule, or Winterfest, or whatever you wanna call it.

Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, spices and hints of smoke, licorice and anise. Taste is smooth, warming and roasty with hints of smoke, anise and licorice. Finish is sticky, malty and slightly roasty. Okay, quite tasty winter porter with a touch of smoke.

Nera come la notte con una fragile schiuma marroncino chiaro. Sentori di caffè, cacao amaro, malto abbrustolito e altri più dolci di frutti rossi e zucchero caramellato; gusto rotondo e "asciutto" con note tostate e caffettose molto intense, maltosa e quasi legnosa sul finale. Corpo medio, strutturata e densa; non è complessissima ma è molto buona!

From notes: batch 307, aged 2+ years. Poured hazy red-brown color with a massive tan head that almost took up the entire glass. Aroma of nutty malt mixed with musty yeast and maybe some dark fruits. Full body with a moderate thickness. The finish is dry and a touch astringent. Nutty malt flavor with candied fruit and a touch of spice beneath, and some musty yeast in the finish..

Black with a brown head - Aroma of roasted malt and some smoke notes - good malt body with roasted malt with some notes of smoke in the back - Lingering roasted malt finish - this was very smooth and easy drinking, and it was very good

Bottle, batch #508, BBE 14/08/15. Pours black with a small, dark latte colored head, or rather more of a foam blanket. Aroma is sweet, salty liquorice and roast on the first whiff. Roast, liquorice, sweet & salty liquorice, molasses. Taste is dark fruits, roast, some coffee, light smoke. Finish and aftertaste have more smoke and roast as well as citirc hops. Palate is medium, carbonated, lightly sticky.

Pitch black, modest head. Very smoky and roasty, some nuts and coffee. Initially some sweetness, moderately bitter aftertaste. Somewhat similar to many German rauchbiers, but not too complex in the end.
