JPDIPSO (4862), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Nov 29, 2008 Murky dark brown color with a small lid of light tan bubbles. Lightly roasted malts, dark chocolate syrup, and licorice scents. Hints of alcohol in the background. Strong flavors, with licorice, anise, chocolate extract, burnt raisins and sweet grains. A bit syrupy in feel. Finish is quite quick and uneventful. Linger has some roasted malts and dark caramelized fruits. Things don’t seem to come together in this one. Seems like something I would pour over bread pudding.

Nuffield (2718), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 9, 2009 I liked this one much more than Jazz88 did. I thought the roasted, coffee, and rich chocolate flavors were nicely blended, with a decent bitter touch. Reasonably rich palate. But not everyone is so taken with this porter-like Christmas beer. Works for me. Jerre (1755), Waregem, Belgium May 9, 2009 Thx to Glenn tasted on Alvinne. Bottle, 50 cl.
