50cl bottle from Meny. Batch 794. Brewed 2014-10-09. Best before 2015-10-09. It poured a black colour with a massive light brown foamy head that settled down slowly in the glass.Aroma is herbal with notes of liqorice, spices, dark chocolate and malts. Flavour is mildly bitter. Notes of liqorice, malts, spices, juniper, dark caramel and chocolate. A decent beer, but probably better with food than on its own.

Skummer overdrevent, men ser flott ut når man er ferdig å helle. Lukter ny glassfiberbåt (polyester), smaker det samme, og bruser plagsomt mye i munnen. Denne gikk i vasken.

Bottle 50 cl.
Hazy dark brown, almost black, with full beige head. Aroma of spices and yeast. Almost resembles burnt plastic, but in a good way(?). Long lasting after taste of spices.

0,5l bottle. 2014. Was this a bad batch? Dark, tall caramel head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma of roasted spice, even.wet charcoal. Flavor almost unpleasant. Aftertaste is charcoal. Not good. Hopefully this is a bad batch.

CloakedDagger (1080) - - NOV 20, 2014
Bottle 50 cl. Opaque dark brown, frothy light brown carbonation. Carbonation is a bit too rich for me. Subtle roast in the nose, toasted nuts and dark chocolate. Thinnish body, has an almost Bourbony feel, very downplayed roast, again dark chocolate. Almost like a Dark Mild or something. Very pleasant actually. 201114

Bottle. Hazy brown body with a small beige head. Roasty aroma with juniper, other herbs, faint fruitness. Taste is mild spicy, juniper, cardamom, light caramelized, good bitterness. Not a bad beer but all things considered a little thin and simple. When opting for a Haandbryggeriet Yule Ale, the stronger ones are the ones you’ll want as they’re damn good and leagues above this one
