3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Brown colour with a gigantic head (too carbonated). Comparable to Haandbryggeriet Nissefar only less complex and powerful. Still, a nice beer with chocolate and coffee ending in a dry, roasted and quite bitter finish.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2008 Bottle 0,5l. Batch 46. Dark red/brown coloured - almost black. A large brownish head clinging to the bottle. Unclear. Peppery aroma. The high carbonation kills most of the flavour, but some malt, spice and roastedness shines through. Dry bitter finish. KI=5

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2006 Courtesy of Papsoe.
The beer has a dark ruddy brown body and a massive three finger thick joke of a head. Said head is brulee craggy with lots of fluffy bubbles in its bloated tan expanse.
The aroma is of spent grains and gunpowder. Yeah. Some mild sweet malt notes. Very dry and dirty smelling.
Fore is malty and slightly toasty with a mildly sweet flavor that hints at molasses and licorice. Very dry feel especially as you swallow. It’s like carbonated dust. Flavor wise it has moments, but it never brings it home.

500ml bottle (batch 44, bb. Sept.08). Dense, brownish head over a mahogany coloured body. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt. Marked taste of aniseed with hints of dark fruits and burnt malt. Rounded bitter finish. Fits the season well, but the anise is bit too dominant (25.11.2006).

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml brown bottle, Vinmonopolet. Batch #46. Bottle conditioned. Dark brown colour. Huge and creamy long-lasting tan head. Pleasant aroma of roast malts, dried fruits, mild coffee and chocolate. Flavour has also plenty of roast malts, moderately sweet, with coffee and dark bitter chocolate in the long aftertaste. Good beer, but Nissefar is even better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle. Dark brown with a deep bright red hue. Clear. Small light brown head mainly around the edges. A few islands elsewhere. Nutty caramel aroma. Sweet nose. Nice dose of hop bitterness at first. Then a lightly burnt caramel flavours. Complex sugars leave a very sweet impression. Somewhat sherry-like, oily, dry and slightly fruity, but the flavours are not typically of sherry either.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. Dark brown coloured with a huge off white head. Yeasty, malty and caramel - way way too high carbonation level - so much in fact - taht it makes it difficult to drink.
