This beer is our new X-mas beer for the coming season. Milder and less powerful roasty taste than Nissefar. More maltiness from the crystal malts and more fruity taste from lots of aroma hops, incl a hard to describe taste from our secret ingredient.

A bit too dark of an old ale style for my taste but for lovers of stout I think they would be pleased

@ Eddan 15-12-5: Tydlig doft av nötter och russin. Lite bränd knäck i eftersmaken. Fyllig och småtrevlig.

Batch 500, oktober 2014. Dup brun klar med to fingre høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter som svensk julmüst. Kaffe, nellik, lett appelsin og karamell. Søtlig noe brent karamell, men nokså skarp nellik og pepperig smak. Middels fylde og varighet.

Pours dark brown with a modest tan head that dissapers in about a minute. Aroma of malt, caramel, some yeast and lingering alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Taste of dark roasted coffee, star anise and some dark berries with a quite spicy/hoppy finish.

Bottle at home. Pours dark brown, almost black with tanned head (we had two bottles - one almost no head, one with over-carbonation). Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, some spices, and alcohol. Notes of American hops. Taste sweet, with some roasted bitterness; vanilla, caramel. Very good and tasty beer.

djoeye (3800) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 11, 2014
Black brown body with clear dark ruby tones, tan head, some spotty lacing. Aroma; mild malty character, herbs, floral hops, yule-nisse-mum’s been in the garden. Taste; spiced malts, dusty hops, more spices, leads to a herbal-floral finish with coffee and chocolate. Feels normal bodied, somewhat dry. Overall something for yule-nisse-mum to enjoy in the evening.

Pours a brown color producing a small, bubbly tan head. Malty aroma with hints of nuts and dough. Some faint liquorice and chocolate notes as well. Taste is malt driven with dark fruits on the flanks. Semi-sweet with a lightly bitter finish. Medium to medium-light bodied with soft carbonation.
