COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The old farm breweries of Norway made special beers - dark, hearty, earthy beers like this classic porter - for weddings christenings, funerals or any occasion at all. Haandbryggeriet makes living beer, not pastuerized nor filtered. But re-fermented in the bottle to create a natural carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Pours with a dark brown, almost black colour, tan rocky head, beautiful. Aroma is rich in porter aromas: coffee, dark chocolate, some vanilla, wood berries; a little hoppy, but not overwhelming; quite strong aroma, not extremely elegant but good. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, slightly sour; a little less good than the aroma. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Teku. Deep brown with huge, densed, light brown head. Good head retention, poor lacing. Roasted sweet malts aroma - milk chocolate, toffee. Also caramel and dark fruits. Chocolate and coffee flavour. Taste is light to medium bitter with nice sweet malty flavours. Medium body, velvety and creamy texture, medium carbonation, finish is semi-sweet and chocolate. In overall very nice porter - highly drinkable and not boring like classical English. Once again the proof that Haand. makes great dark beers.
