500ml shared by alexsdad06. Black color. Thin brown head. Dots of lace. Big smoke, light dark fruit, red wine barrel character. Moderate bigger bitter taste. Light alcohol heat. Bigger body. Smooth soft lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Lightly tart, in a blackberry way. Tasty stuff.

I got this at Randall's. Pours black with a brown head. Taste roasted malt, dark chocolate. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, at Haand Festival. A black one, topped by a dense, brown, finger-thick head. Chocolate, cocoa, peat, old wood, roasted malts tending towards burnt, and a touch of something making me think there will be acidity in the flavor. There’s some, but just a little bit, keeping the peated and roasted malts company. Chocolate and cocoa too, and a little oak hint. Full-bodied, quite dry, but with some sweetness left. Nice carbonation too. A beer to enjoy relaxing in your favorite chair. 130524

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2014 Botella de 50 cl en Cimeria. 22-12-13 imperial stout??

Appearance: Black color with a fine big beige head. Nice lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee and some acidic notes.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet, and a fine bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: Chocolate, roasted malt and some wild yeast.
Overall impression: The wild yeast should definitely not be there, but it gave it a nice unusual twist.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with OleR

Très belle mousse couleur marron clair, assez dense. Nez de fruit rouge, vin rouge. Saveurs rouges épicées. Beau produit de cette catégorie.

Bottle. Opaque black body. Short, tan head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, cherries, oak, licorice. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter and moderately acidic. Medium to full body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. Strong sour cherry taste along with notes of roasted/burnt malts, chocolate, vanilla, dry oak. Nice sipping sour impy.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Motoroil pour. Medium sized brown foamy head on top of a pitch black colored beer. Aromas of berries, grapes, apricot, flowers, sweet grains, vinous, yeast, some light hints of ash, light bay leaf/liquorice ish tone, chocolate and malt roast. Flavours of berries, light vinous, light tart, some grapes, some chocolate, smooth light roast tint, some yeast, dry tones, some light mocha and malt roast ashy tints and some wood roast. Mostly vinous sour fruity tones than any roast coffee chocolate tones... Aftertaste is tart with berries, grapes, some wood, some yeast and vinous tones. Medium carbo, creamy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture. Strange, it’s too fruity and tart and for 11%ABV extremely drinkable!

Bottle from Bobby’s in Santa Clara. Pours black with no head. Aroma is strong and strange. Maybe a little coffee and strange berry. Med + body. Flavor is sort of sour stout with odd fruits and some oakiness. Maybe touch of smoke with treacle. Finishing moderately, but nicely, sour.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with very little head; mainly a ring of brown that leaves some lacing. Aroma is sour, lemon, roasty, cocoa, perhaps some oakiness, but no real alcohol - were they wine barrels? Flavor is the same, roasty, chocolate, sour cherry, sour milk. Light sweet, medium sour, sourness persisting to far finish. Body fairly full and creamy. Just a bit of funk as well. What is so fucking funny is that this is clearly an infected beer; the more that I drink it, the more I am sure of that, and yet I am sitting here trying to rate it hedonistically as if it were a sour stout. The scores I am giving reflect that attempt. Its actually not that bad, but there are enough off notes mixed in that I can’t see how it is getting 4’s.
