COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Odins Tipple was meant to be a strong beer, but we changed our minds...its still strong but we wont follow the mega strong trend. It should be possible to make great beer without the extreme alcohol potency. Odins Tipple is now approx 11% abv, it’s a dark almost black beer from lots and lots of chocolate malt. Its the malt that contributes the flavor...no added coffee or anything else, Its got a great body without being old engine oil and still very drinkable due to the wild yeast we use. This beer is made with a single strain of wild yeast and the recipe is dead simple.

Updating from my personal notes - will update with description if I can find it again. One of the first craft brews I ever had.

Unusual beer. Flavors of dried fruits soaked in booze. Some bacony-smoke, tobacco flavors. Low carbonation. A little slick in the palate. Serving: Bottle

0,5 l. bottle, batch # 376. Poured in to a snifter. Black colour with an average sized, creamy dark brown head, that faded very fast. Aroma is heavy malty with molasses, caramel, chocolate, hops with notes of dark dried fruits, oak and vanilla. A little bit of alcohol. Bitter taste. Full bodied, creamy texture, and a long lasting, bitter finish with bacon, smoke, ashes, oak, dark fruits and a hint of alcohol. Excellent beer.

This is a beer only for people who love viscous, licorice-accented imperial stouts. As such it is quite unique to the genre and has a flavor profile that is singular (single strain of wild yeast). I like it a lot.

A pitch black brew, a head with a brilliant red hue forms and quickly disappears. Chocolate, apricots, malts, nuts and alcohol to the aroma. A thick mouthful that holds dark chocolate and vanilla amongst it’s flavours. Generally a very bitter feel to it. I liked it a lot! (Bottle)

Date: February 14, 2012 Mode: Bottle Source: Crown Liquor Description: Black pour with almost no head, just some bubbling up on the sides. Roasted malt, chocolate, and alcohol in the aroma. Taste was similar, but also had some smokiness and maybe some oak/wood. The dry alcohol bitter finish was just not doing it for me though. Batch 376.

Pours an intimidating thick pitch black with zero head. Is this even beer? Smell a ton of roasted malt with wisps of dark chocolate and wood. The body surprised me in that it is slick and light in feel with low carbonation. Layers of the darkest roasted malts crush my palate. Along the way I pick up varieties of coffee, chocolate, tobacco, and molasses. Alcohol warmth keeps it at a slow sipping pace. This is viscious beer.

Ooh! Almost NO head on this baby. Color is just about black. This is well roasted chocolate malts and very little else. Very robust, but little complexity.
