3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rand (820) - SWITZERLAND - APR 15, 2011
Bottle 50 cl from www.erzbierschof.ch. Porter all black, huge foam beige ochre, sticking to the glass. Scents of coffee, expresso, chocolate. The taste is soft-malted, bitter of roasting, lively with chocolate, toffy and molasses. The beer is supple, but robust coffee, hints of mulberry, vanilla and leather. The hop is fruity, the finale more dry, but rich, greedy and expresso. A most.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 emacgee (3004) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - APR 3, 2011
Norse Porter. Super carbed gusher. Seems like others have had this problem as well so I won’t chalk it up to infection. Dark brown with lots of fizzy light tan head. Looks infected. Smells infected. Fruit skins and a mild tartness in the nose, old cardboard. Acidic paper flavor, meh. Mildly smoky.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 daje (538) - NORWAY - MAR 11, 2011
Bottle at Laundromat, labeled as Norse Porter. Dark brown almost black, big light brown head. Like several bottles from Haandbryggeriet the one we had suffered from too much carbonation in the bottle. Other than this it’s a very nice beer. Aroma is coffee, some licorice and malts. Taste is likewise, with some sweet stuff setting in before a good dry bitter end.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 esp0r (803) - NORWAY - MAR 11, 2011
Bottle @ Laundromat - shared with Daje. Dark with a espresso head. Aroma of coffee, yeast, malts and nuts. Taste of coffee and much good sweetness. Finish has a power hoppy finish.I feel i miss some balance, but the beer is absolutely great.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JanLaursen (1121) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2011
Bought as Norse Porter: Black with big beautiful rich light-brown foam. Cool detained nose with cold coffee as the predominant impression. Taste: Coffee, but clearer and warmer than in the nose, roasted tones, little vinegar, medium bitterness. Mouth Feeling: Excessive carbonation. The effect is fresh, perhaps too fresh compared to the gravity of the beer.
