This beer is a robust porter with lots of dark malts of various kinds with a smooth taste and a nice fruitiness from the hops and a dryish aftertaste that lingers. 34 IBU’s

Norse Porter ABV 6.5 Batch 208 Black. HUGE tan head. It may have been my glass... but no other beer poured into it has done that. Dry hay smell, roasted malt. Burnt malt dominates the beginning and middle, ends with a bitter aftertaste. A solid taste, though not complex. Moderate body, medium to high level of carbonation. Good overall, but nothing too special.

Originally rated on 12/4/08. Batch# 78, brewed may 7- Norse porter poured a coal black body with a thick dark tan cap. Aromas were really nice with raisin, plum, cherry, chocolate, and roasted coffee. Upon first sip an earthy, spicy malt flavor, with a chocolate middle and a dry coffee finish. Overall I really liked this porter, great aroma, good taste, the one draw back is the price but you get what you pay for.

Aroma is quite sweet with hints of vanilla and chocolate. The flavour is similar but with the added complexity of roasted malts and a touch of smoke.

Bottle, shared during our epic gaming weekend. Dark brown, bubbly light brown head. Hearty roast, bitter chocolate with fruity undertones. Full bodied for its ABV. Really nice.

Black beer with light rusty brown head. Sweet fruity crispy dark malts, syrup, sugared plums and green leaves to the nose. Fruity taste; plum peels, coffee cream, chocolate, dry apple, leading to a soft flourish finish. Nice feel and body. Good brew.

Bottle, 500ml, from a Vinmonopolet in Oslo. A black colour with a large brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate malt, some yeast notes. Flavour of chocolate malt with honey and coffee. Some underlying hop notes. Low to moderate carbonation. A slightly bitter, hoppy finish. Really enjoyed this.

This beer is pretty cool. It has a fairly sweet taste of roast and chocolate upfront. It sort of peters off, then all of a sudden there is a huge dark coffee resurgence that lingers. It’s really good.
