Bouteille 50cl, batch#693, BB 04/12/2015.

Bottle @ Det Akademiske Kvarter, Bergen. Pours a orange-hued clear amber body with a small white head. Nose is sour citric notes, red currants, bready yeast tones and hints of apples, hay and wine gum. Taste is wine gum, citric acid, hay and hints of apples, cellar yeasty tones, herbs and red currants. Medium body, high to fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent, but somewhat weird at the same time.

500 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Slightly unclear golden body with a small off-white head. Rather weak aroma of fruit or berries with a funky hint. Flavor is light acidic fruity and otherwise quite discrete in flavors. Not bad, but too plain and one-dimensional. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Drinkable and quite refreshing, but I was expecting more distinctiveness flavors from this.

Not good. The beer is orangey amber with a light red hue. Fizzy bubbles that fade quickly. No real buildup of head, just bubbles. The liquid is quite cloudy. The aroma is cherry cough drops, apricots and light sour beer. There’s a mild malt note. It’s mostly fruit. The apricot flavor is rather nice - kinda seems like brett fruitiness. More weird cough syrup flavor in the taste. Mildly tart. Odd acerbic yeasty dryness - maybe oak and yeast coming together. It really kills any fruit brightness. Lingering oaky, fruity bitterness. Thin mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation. Odd beer. There’s some promise in the fruitiness of the base, but the oak and fruit are too strong and kinda unpleasant.
