3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours an opaque brown, surprisingly light/bright. In my excitement I poured the dregs. Has a half finger of tan fine tan head. Aroma is smoke, smoked malt, mesquite, caramel, soy sauce, and alcohol. Flavor is bitter up front, fading into smoked and roasted malt tones, caramel and cocoa hints. Finishes mildly hoppy and bitter. Soft to moderate carbonation and medium-full body. Smooth texture. Flavorful and balanced, the hops provide a nice contrast to the smokiness. For some reason however, I wish it were a little smokier. This is a very good beer.

4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle. Pours a very cloudy dark reddish brown with a nice beige head. Aroma is smoked, woody, salty, malty, pine tree. Flavor is loads of malt, roasted caramel, somewhat woody, pine tree. Finish is tons of smoke, old smoke, very intense smoke. Smoke! Lingering...smoke...and wood. But, yeah. Smoke. It’s a smoked ale, y’know? Medium to full body, soft mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation. Loved every sip.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ La Capsule, Lille - FR. Color: dark amber beer with small carbonation and small ivory brown head. Smell: smoked and roasted malty beer with something like smoked ham on nose. Taste: nice beer with ranch malt and roasted malt. Aftertaste: roasted malt. Not my favorite taste but the balance is fine and really drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
O in qualunque altro posto, s’intende.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
50 cl bottle. Clear dark amber hued brown, rocky tan creamy head slowly settles and lasts. Smokey roasted caramel aroma. Smokey singed malt taste, ashy and woody, some hints of chocolate and dark fruit. Soft carbonation, medium bodied, lightly hopped. Could use more sweetness to balance it out. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
