Røyk Uten Ild (Smoke Without Fire) is our smoky beer, here we have tried to make a beer as smoky as we can using our smoked malt from Weiermann. We have made a fairly dark and flavourful beer. Apart from the special malt the rest of the malt bill (86%) is smoked malt. You could also say that this is a smoked wheat beer, because we have used our wheat beer yeast here. The beer is not scary but actually very nice even for those that aren’t smoke beer fanatics....try it and you will see. Contains malted barley, Amarillo hops, wheat beer yeast, and lots of smoked malt from Bamberg, Germany. 8% alc, 33 ibu, 48 ebc. Serving temp 8 - 12C or 46 - 53F.

Bottle, bought @ Kihoskh, Cph.
Clear deep chestnut with a big, staying, frothy, beige head. Amazing duration - almost seems to enhance with time. Aroma has lots of smoke, mild chocolate, light peity, caramel sweetness and a bit of piney hops. Medium to low carbonation, great creamy and light dry mouthfeel. Flavour is mild sweet, good grainy malts, fine smoke with a tar-like tartness to it. Lovely dark chocolate notes and some fine roasted malts. Really a very lovely beer.

500ml bottle. Pours a near-opaque chestnut-flashed black, with a small but long-lasting off-white head. Smoky, bacon-like aromas mix with a touch of cream and some berry notes. Prickling, herbal hops to start, moving into a body which is both creamy and nicely dry and smoky. A smoke-infused finish of bacon notes lingers nicely. A smooth and subtle smoked beer - delicious.

50cl bottle from Alvinne Biershop, this beer rocks!! Batch# 426, BB 01-11-2013.

From bottle. Amazing smoky aroma, not overpowering and not subtle, just right. For flavor I’m picking up dark cherry, hickory, a bit of chocolate. All work well together. Would love to air this with BBQ brisket.

500 ml bottle courtesy of jesterdeal. Thanks. Pours a nearly opaque dark brown color with a big foamy khaki colored head that has great retention. The aroma is somewhat mild for a smoked beer with smoke, roasted grains and some ripe dark fruits. The taste is wonderfully complex with Bamberg smoked malts, wheat, dark chocolates, leather and bitter walnuts. The palate is full and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry with a bit of lingering smoke. Overall: Very tasty--Great smoked beer.

O in qualunque altro posto, s’intende.

Bottle at Bar & Cigar. Usually when you get a smoke-beer you expect it to be overpowering and taste like an old hunting cabin. But this one was actually very balanced and the smoke was a nice compliment that raised the beer. It was also fairly complex with lots of different flavours, unfortunately I didn’t write them all down.

500 ml bottle @ Konttori.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beige frothy white head. Medium sweet on the nose with smokiness, fruits, syrup and coffee. RIch taste of roasted malts, brown sugar, smoke, syrup, chocolate and honey. Full bodied, oily to slicky mouthfeel and decent carbonation. Nice smoked beer with a warming finish.

Bottle at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of the brewers - thank you gentlemen! Subtle smoke with hints of pepper and light spice, good malt balance. Very tasty, and very easy to drink.

Bottle from Star Grocery in Berkeley, CA. Pours black with a foamy beige/tan head. Aroma is uncertain, except for the smoke. Med body; foamy carb. Flavor is malty and smokey. Goes really well with cheese.
