10/28/11 notes: Draft, LB. Color is clear amber-brown, with a wispy white head. Aroma is roasted carrots, bittersweet cacao, chipotle smoke and char. Great. Flavor is a sultry blend of spice, smoke and sweeter malts, with a light enough body to allow the effervescence to brighten it substantially. An aggressive concoction for sure, but it works quite nicely.

Smokey nose.
Taste is smoke, chocolate, and quite malty.
Spice and hoppy bitterness.
Creamy, quite full body for a smoked, low carbonation. Really delicious. Fantastic smoked.

Aroma is smoky with some wood and ash. Flavour has smoke, roasted malt, some tobacco and ash. Kind of reminds me of Norwegian Wood. This just is better.

very charcoaly, like smoke off a coal bbq. not as heavy as the dark brown pour would make you think. lots of smoke and roast but fairly bitter and with some bright citrus. nicely balanced, and with hops rather than the more common sweetness.

Bottle. Smoke aromas. Pours dark brown, poor white head, non persistent. Somelacework. Light body and flat carbonation. Taste is roasty and smoky, some bitterness. Aftertaste is smoky.
One of the smoked beers i enjoyed most. Very balanced, not so "agressive" as others.

330ml bottle. Clear medium to dark red brown color with off-white head. Aroma is malty and roasted with smoke.. Flavor is sweet and bitter with tons of dark smoke. Oily and soft carbonation.

One of the best smoked ever had. Absolute mental beer, no eating suggested. must try.

pours a black with some amber around the edges, with a thick tan head. there is a lot going on in the aroma ranging from smoked pork and peat through to some nice roasted malts with some coffee and burnt toffee which is magnified in the flavour. probably the best smoked beer i’ve had.

Pours dark brown but ends up looking black in the glass. Gives a small brown head. Nose is bacon, ashtray, grease, burnt wood and hamburger. A&W bacon double in my glass. Flavor is sweet, mildy bitter with a great smoke profile. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, heavy body with a long smokey aftertaste. Wonderful.

Couleur ambrée/brune claire, col beige/doré léger.
Arôme est malté avec un très beau bouquet fumé donnant des notes de lard fumé, et de feu de forêt.
En bouche, malté fumé, pâle, grillé sur bois, aspect de bbq/lard fumé/jambon d’Ardenne. Alcool reste discret, légère note de caramel avec en retrait un houblon donnant une fin de bouche citronné amer.
Un vrai régal.
