Appearance: this beer pours with not head just a few soapy bubbles around the perimeter, the beer is a clear average golden color Aroma: very sour, very tart, funky, some spicy warmth probably from the oak barrel, Taste: spicy warmth as soon as it's in your mouth, strong sour and tart notes throughout, tangy, has a very distant slightly sweet hint in the background Palate: light mouthfeel, leaves mouth dry, average carbonation, very tart and sour aftertaste Overall: this beer is delicious, Intensly sour and tart, hides alcohol beautifully, reminds me of petrus aged pale but with more wood ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bretta, citrus and some grapefruit. Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Well-balanced. Tart finish. Nice stuff. Thanks to DCLawyer for sharing a bottle of this at Churchkey.

20141115 500ml bottle from State Line. Brought home my new dog Wallace today and in his honor I figured I’d drink a Haand beer since this guy is all about mouthing my hands. Hazy motor oil amber with no head. Oak and cider vinegar is dominant on the nose, with apricot and raisin. A bit more sweet than I expected, but that’s the oak I guess. Puckeringly sour, but also a bit unctuous and coating. Slight carbonation that only really bites at the back of the palate. The first few sips were brilliant, but it becomes laborious to work through the bottle because it remains a tad on the sweet side and not all that interesting. Still, it’s a nice beer overall and not something I’d hesitate to drink again if I could share it. If it was a thimble sample I’d probably have scored it higher.

I liked it, but it was a few days ago so I don’t remember details. I think the it should get a bump up for the bottle label--- the sour lady added to my appreciation of the beer.

Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; pretty soft carbonation though. A hazy apricot with bubbly lacing. Smells solid; tart, funky, and oaky. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant medium-bodied mouthfeel that could be dryer, but is pleasant nonetheless. seems like some lacto in there too with a bit of discernible vinegar. Enjoyable.

"labeled Sweet and Sour in the US. Didn’t quite match up to some stiff competition, but not bad either. Definitely as advertised (sweet and sour). Makes you want to get some chinese food :) Comes off a little strange, like the sweet part is forced, though, and a little out of balance in that direction. For the price, likely a one-timer."

Bottle. Head is initially very small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), with notes of underripe cherry, old oak, sour apple, lemon juice, dry grass/straw, pickle brine / vinegar. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Not a big fan of this one...some vinegar notes, oak is a little strong, mouthfeel is rather flabby/syrupy. Not bad but not very good either. Just kinda "blah" for a sour ale.
