cloudy yellow, bubbly white head. wild yeasty aroma with a touch of lemon or citrus, faint sweeter orange note, but it stays well in the dry and bitter area where i like my saison the most. flavor is oranges, citrus fruits, wild yeast, spices. perhaps a little bit too much fruit, it distracts a bit from the saison spicyness. quite well carbonated, my only complaint is that i can’t help thinking "saison radler" although that is unfair, the beer being a hefty 7% alc. "saison fruit beer" might serve it better.. flavor wise the beer is quite okay, with the mix between belgian wild yeasty beer and then fresh citrussy fruits. it is quite refreshing and a lot less cloying and confuzed than most fruit beers.

NORSAND (73) - Lillestrøm, NORWAY - JUN 5, 2015
Appearance: Golden, cloudy. With a very foamy, lasting white head. Nose: Light hops and lots of citrus (orange and lemon). Appealing. Taste & palate: Off-dry, appetising freshness, citrusy fruitiness and just a mild bitterness in the aftertaste, which is long and lingering. Almost creamy, with rich, smooth carbonation. Although a Winter Saison beer, after having been cooled down, this beer feels more like a witbier competitor for warm summer days (or nights).

Um, wow, this is amazing. Absurdly expensive even when bought as a single bottle at OSL, the balance of creamy goodness, zesty orange, spices, and a relatively low and nearly perfect level of bitterness make this brew one to remember-- and one to purchase again when next in Norway!
