COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian ale with cranberries and currants added. The Haand brewers - four guys making beer in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - specialize in recreating old Norwegian farm beers. Here’s one made with a variety of different grains, and some typical fruits from the region, handpicked by the brewers. It is fermented by airborne wild yeast, unfiltered, and unpasteurized. Wild Thing, you make everything...groovy.

Bottle @ ZZT’11 #2: Thanks to IluvatarMilan: Batch 246: Small off white head on top of a hazy red/orange –ish colored beer. Smell yeast, berries, light sulphur. Taste is nice fruity, yeasty, light sour, glue-ish. Low to medium carbo, tingly mouthfeel, medium to a bit fuller body and a light watery texture. Strange but good, well balanced and tasty.

Gusher pours a large, off-white/light tan head. Moderate lacing with a clear, orange body. Sweaty, sour aroma with a touch of birch-like smoke. Tart fruit is prominent in the flavor. Sour cherry with some white grape and raisin. Nice tart sourness. Not lip puckering, but refreshing. Highly carbonated, light body is bone dry, but not thin. Touch of warming alcohol peaks through. Lingering tartness in the finish. Very well made overall. A tasty beer and a good intro to sours, but still delicious and complex.

Orange red colour, white disappearing head. Funky, fruity smell, berries, hint of smoke. Flavour fruity, bit sour, sweet lingonberry, slight smoke. Tart finish.

(Old) bottle. Gusher as expected. Aroma is huge red fruits, touch of barn and dust. Flavour is a rather dull fruit, with a touch of wild yeast. Not bad at all, just less of it than you would expect. Now it’s okay, when fresh probably great.

Like a small volcano it kept foaming over the rim of the bottle for quite some time. Aroma is strange but fruity. Taste is very good. There’s even some smoke between all the berries. Too bad part of the bottle foamed over.

Bottled sample shared with oakbluff. Orange in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Bizzare aromas of wild red berries, creosote, and tar. Equally strange in the mouth, with elements of tobacco, iodine, smoke, nettles, and mild red fruit. Very dry. Not bad overall, but lacking in both depth and focus.

Probably a nice fresh beer to drink during a hot summer day. Sour finish, not a really nice smell but overall decent.

batch 246 bottled 24.11.09 bottle shared by nbutler on 2/10/11. cranberry tinted brown with a white cap and some drippy lacing. it smells like a brand new hospital gown!... also, aromas of cinnamon, iron and scorched-like smokiness. it tastes like eating a new band-aid with blood in it.... and cinnamon. there are notes of tart fruit and wood but they play a bench position. it’s weird and i really wanted to like it but something in here is off. 6/4/6/3/13

Cloudy orange, smells of hay and fruit. The flavor is dry with a hint of sour. A little too floral.
