COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian ale with cranberries and currants added. The Haand brewers - four guys making beer in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - specialize in recreating old Norwegian farm beers. Here’s one made with a variety of different grains, and some typical fruits from the region, handpicked by the brewers. It is fermented by airborne wild yeast, unfiltered, and unpasteurized. Wild Thing, you make everything...groovy.

Bottle@BlindTastingSession. Aroma of tangerine, apple, lemon, very fruity and light spicy. Orange colour, hazy, floaties, beige head, good lace. Rather sweet, pretty sour, light bitter, tangerine, hint of lemon, some spices. Very sticky and a sour burn.

Bottle at Baran. Pours a hazy red and orange colour with a white medium size head. Sour aromas with berries towards rowanberries, and some smoke. The flavor contains more berries, wood, oak, and the smokey flavors is just magnificent. Slick and rich mouthfeel. This is really a one of a kind beer with a nice norwegian touch of nature in it. This beer take me all the way to a cabin up in the norwegian mountains. I enjoyed this beer a lot.

50cl bottle from Alvinne biershop. Batch#246.

50cl Bottle from De Molen, fairly aged. Slightly hazy amber orange colour, white head (slight gusher). Aroma is slightly sour at first, some Brettanomyces I think, later on tart fruity, berries, currants, lots of peat, smoke, light iodine, earth. It’s all over the place but really nice imo. Flavour has all of the above, is medium sweet, malty, when the beer warms the sourness is pushed to the background for a more earthy and peaty character, juniper berries, light tart and fruity hoppy finish. Medium bodied, firm carbonation but in no way disturbing. Great complex beer, lacks a bit of balance but I love it.

Orange-reddish hazy bod with an off-white head. Aroma of smoke with a touch of sour cherries: not very intense. Moderately bitter, moderately sour flavour. Unbalanced with a fruity touch but not very nice.

2009 Vintage – batch 246 – 50 cl. bottle @ RBWG 2012 Thanks to 77ships. Hazy orange amber coloured beer with some medium carbonation and a small white head. Lovely slightly smokey sour and fruity hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is fruity (hints of cranberries), slightly peppery with a somewhat smokey hint. Cranberry infused with some light sour fruity touches. Very nice.

2009 bottle batch 246. Pours cloudy dark orange with a creamy foamy white head that settles to a tight foamy film. Aroma is sour tart rotten fruit and wood and leather. Taste comes off smokey and peaty with some sourness and leather wood (corks) and rotten cranberries. Palate is medium and fizzy with a dry chalky finish. This drinks fine, but lacks the sourness that I really enjoy.

2009 Vintage – batch 246 – 50 cl. bottle sampled @ RBWG 2012 – personal contribution– hazy red amber with a white head, not a gusher but foaming like insane within the bottle with the whole bottle eventually filling only with foam, smell is tart musty cowberries, slight sour cowberries, taste is same, medium sour with a strongly fruity cranberry side to it, old wood & branches, touch smoked juniper branches, very tart, funky, dry, very nice but probably not everyone’s cup of tea

Bottle @ ZZT’11 #2: Thanks to IluvatarMilan: Batch 246: Small off white head on top of a hazy red/orange –ish colored beer. Smell yeast, berries, light sulphur. Taste is nice fruity, yeasty, light sour, glue-ish. Low to medium carbo, tingly mouthfeel, medium to a bit fuller body and a light watery texture. Strange but good, well balanced and tasty.
