COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Norwegian ale with cranberries and currants added. The Haand brewers - four guys making beer in their spare time, on an absurdly small scale - specialize in recreating old Norwegian farm beers. Here’s one made with a variety of different grains, and some typical fruits from the region, handpicked by the brewers. It is fermented by airborne wild yeast, unfiltered, and unpasteurized. Wild Thing, you make everything...groovy.

A moderate gusher upon opening. Veiled orangey dark pink hued ale covered by a slice of white that lasts. Lightly lactic, gently flowery, mineral, very phenolic nose barely hints at the fruits this contains. Rather earthy pits, branches and... bile meet in this rather messy ale. In mouth, carbonation takes a lot of room and the beer is very dry, the fruit sugars having apparently been eaten up through and through, letting a texture that feels on the very light side for a Haandbryggeriet. They still manage to pull out very noticeable smoke flavours out of this and it is fairly complementary to the minerally fruits, but there is little else going on and some of the phenolic compounds, giving plastic and medicinal flavours a plenty, are detrimental to the enjoyment. Funny how I really love that brewery and wild beers, yet combining the two leads to a disappointment.

Bottle split at Pedro leaving drinks, CBC Clerko, 24/04/15 thanks to Paulo. Lightly hazed orange amber with moderate off White spotting. Nose is tarte fruit rinds, damp hay, wood must, red berry notes, apple core. Taste falls away from the nose a little, grain, light wood must, sweaty bread, tarte berry, damp straw, citric notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light acidity and a cranberry tang in the close. Ok sour if a touch basic.

Lightly warming finish with faint acetic bite, se rindy citrus, further lemon, some earth, dry pale bread. A nicely drinkable sour.

Bottle, bb 4.09.2017. Beautiful orange beer with short-lasting white head. Sweet aromas of berries, very much resembling cloudberries. Low acidity, some sweetness and contrasting bitterness make this beer drinkable and enjoyable. Distinct and very pleasant aftertaste of berries.

Smells of fragrant berry blossoms. A beautiful peach and red pearlescence color, but no head. Sharp slight aseptic then the currents come out and the dry cranberries finish it. Leaves a lasting dry berry stain behind.
