Formerly Hachenburger Ur-Trüb.

Hachenburger Ur-Trüb doesn’t just have a wonderfully herbal flavour; it’s also an especially full-bodied beer. This unfiltered beer contains many nutritious minerals, vitamins and protein, and the yeast that it contains makes Hachenburger Ur-Trüb a speciality beer with a revitalising effect.

Pours an amber, hazed color, with a big, bubbly head. Smells of coppery, sweet toffee, peas hull, wet grass and straw. Has a soft, velvet mouthfeel, with a medium, refreshing carbonation to it, convincing for its dry, leafy finish. Tastes of rustic, doughy malts, a rich, leafy hoppiness and a note of toffee on the back end. Old honey blends into dried leaves, turns almost alcoholic while finishing with a pleasantly calm, soft hop appearance and hazelnut shell among earth. Unexpectedly heavy on the tongue for what it represents, while exhibiting a nice hop profile among sweeter malts.

Bottle. Slightly hazy, brown amber color, small white head. Fresh caramel aroma. Sour, light sweet, more bitter taste. Sweet, malty caramel aftertaste. Low carbonation, medium texture.

33cl fliptop bb03/2015, merci idiosynkrasie voor de serie. Nice label design overall by this regional brewery. The first less succesful, while in its off-the-markness still interesting beer by Hachenburger so far: beigish pour with heavy carbonation. Chalky yeast aroma, some hard to locate minerals. Taste splits up in quality sweet malts with marzipan dryness and a distinct grassy hop bitterness. Yeast profile remains too timid and body overall too fizzy for it all to come together. Grainy husk-bitter finish, late hop pollen. Some character in the base ingredient department, but rare remain the truly spectacular yeast-driven supra-Main Zwickls...

Vielen Dank an kevnic2008! Geruch malzig, fruchtig, Karamell. Geschmack fruchtig malzig, getreidig, leicht würzig, Karamell. Klasse Zwickel!

0,33 l swing top bottle. Cloudy, nearly orange in the glass. Big head. Starts thin, then malty, light sweetness, hints of honey. A little bit spicy but all in all a smooth beer. Easy to drink, nothing special.

Leicht hefiges Aroma. Dünner Antrunk, erfrischend. Im Geschmack hefig-brotig-malzig mit schüchternem Hopfenausklang.
