330 ml bottle. Nice bready banana and marzipan flavor. Medium bready body, very slight banana aftertaste. A handsome beer, not run of the mill. I would love to try this on tap at a bar in Berlin.

Pours a heavily hazed golden with a medium creamy white head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of a typical hefe with some nice and distinct cloves and bananas. Taste is not sweet and even a little tart, quite nice. Flavors are of fresh banana bread and wheat. Mouthfeel is smooth, carbonation medium and body light to medium. Overall a pretty good beer, true to style.

Bubblegum and banana but a little bit too synthetic to be a great weiss. Does not have the natural undertones but too bubble gum manufactured.

Let’s get right down to it. Is Hacker-Pschorr’s Weisse as impressive as some of the legendary German wheat ales? No. This ale doesn’t have quite the same combination of refreshing carbonation, light feel, headiness, and yeasty taste as its superiors. These better German ales (many of which are, in fact, made by Hacker-Pschorr) are in a separate class that isn’t quite within reach of this Weisse. Okay, so there’s that, but is Weisse a good beer? Definitely. The aroma has lots of yeast funk and a spicy ester that strongly points to cloves. While that delicious funky note is dead on arrival in terms of taste, this ale’s banana-like sweetness and brisk, spicy finish are quite refreshing. If you’re expecting greatness, you’ll be underwhelmed. This is a perfectly acceptable hefeweizen, though.

I enjoyed this weissbier from start to finish. Poured a golden orange with remarkably long-lasting effervescence, which made for a persistent head as well. Aroma (though muted) and taste were both "soft" with the crispness one expects from a wheat beer and a surprisingly complexity of fruit and clove tastes with each drink. Nice mouth feel and typical wheat beer drinkability. This one was (and is) a great choice for a hot summer day.

On tap at the Brewpub. Trübes orangegelbes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig. Geschmack hefig, fruchtig nach Banane, leicht würzig.

Just a solid Germand hefeweizen, nothing mindblowing going on, but still nice.

Tap at the Hacker Pschorr Brewpub in Munchen 23/1/14. Light clouded orange / golden pour with a steadfast white froth. Aroma is vanilla and banana bread, Really ripe banana, banana nesquik. Flavour is big banana bread, very ripe sweet banana, sweet cereal wheat. Yeast character dominates the flavour way overdone. Finish is slightly crisp. with some honey sweetness. Medium body. Tasty banana bready.

Bouteille 500ml.

poured from 500ml bottle into weizen glass A - Cloudy, light, golden straw colour. 2 1/2 fingers of beautiful weiss head with great retention and somewhat decent lacing left on the glass. doesn’t pass as much light as you’d expect for such a light coloured beer. S - medium intensity, herbal & spicy hops, banana, cloves, orange, maybe some red berries hiding in there (strawberry?), no alcohol T - strong aroma of fcloves, banana, & bubblegum off the top, kind of spicy, somewhat floral, light hop bitterness, orange & maybe coriander M - Medium body, dry, medium-high carbonation, goes down smooth, medium finish O - really enjoyed this beer, nothing was overpowering, good balance, not sweet and not too bitter for a hefe, excellently crafted, will buy again Serving type: bottle
