Strong clove and bananas throughout. Really well done. Would drink it again in a second. thornecb (1755), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2007 I’m sorry but the experts here ar wrong. 80 is far too high a score for the dunkle weisse. Several German brewers make far superior dark wheats than this.
Good color and aroma but the fruit taste is too ripe, almost rotten. Does not finish well. You’re gonna spend the money for a good German dunkle weisse, look elsewhere. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2007 355 ml. bottle, produced on date in the right hand corner of front label (04/07). Sampled in a Hacker-Pschorr weizen glass that was a thrown in bonus after a beer purchase at Dirty John’s in Iowa City, Iowa.
Poured a cloudy orange hued caramel brown. Active carbonation in the beginning leads to a large creamy, tight foamy head. Takes awhile to dissipate, a smattering of laced sticking.
A nose of bubble gum and banana, fruity esters, lightly sweet toasted malts, touches of caramel and grainy bread. A light herbal hop at the edges.
Smooth medium body, creamy malty crispness, well rounded feel in the palate. Subtle clove, nuts and banana, good weizen yeast flavors. Toasted grain bready malts, a mild fruitiness in the middle, traces of lemons. Soft herbal, tea leaf hops that finish with a dry spiciness.
An highly quaffable Dunkel Weisse ale, I often find this on sale at stores in my area.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pours a dark brown which didn’t look so appealing until I took a whiff. Smells like banana bread pudding. I have not had a lot of dark wheats but this is the best of the bunch for me so far in this style. BlackForestCO (820), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured an amber/brown color with a moderate white head. Hefeweizen-like aroma. Malt heavy taste with hints of spice and wheat. Nice. Drank before I was really into craft beer, and I thought it was awesome. Quite good, but not as good as I thought back then. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 27, 2007 On draft at the Flying Saucer. Deep amber body with ample white head. Has an aroma of clove, banana and spice. Taste mirrors the nose but with a characteristic German Munich note (rich and malty) as well as some very light chocolate notes. Finishes dry and a little overcarbonated.
