| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2004 I was pleasantly surprised to see this and its lighter sibling at a store in Salem.
Quite a distinguished looking beer, light hazy chesnut brown with a large frothy off white head.
Rather pleasing aroma..the usual germen hefe smells plus a rich maltiness.
Nice taste to this it has the usual esters and spiciness of a regular Hefe and a nice caramel malt sweetness.
Very smooth on the tongue and semi-dry finish.
I found this exceptionally drinkable..I shall be returnin to the store to by a few cases of this stuff.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Appearance: rosy, cloudy, beneath a lush, looming, lovely dollop of a creamy, puddingesque head.
Aroma: creamy, clovey, there’s the banana, too, with a whiff of other tropical fruits, sensuous, arousing, inherently likable.
Great grit and grab on the palate with first sip, nice blitz of hops, followed by lush, mellow malt. Great body, long, lingering finish, persistent flavor. Smooth, and very easy on the tongue, Goes down the gullet nice as a dream.
A good dunkel-weisse is a wonderful thing, and Hacker’s is a sterling example.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 10, 2004 The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 59. This draft brew from our hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Germany poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated cloudy dark brown colored body. The aroma was a dark malt yeasty one and the mouth feel was smooth initially with a slight tingle and a thick lingering yeasty finish. The flavor contained notes of dark malts yeasty and was somewhat flat after a few minutes. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2004 Finally, The Hacker trifecta! It’s burgundy, and bubbly with a nice floral ester sweet flavour and a smooth palate -- as with all the pschorr’s... but it’s nothing spectacular. Full bodied and watery really. Still prefer the hefe to this!
