JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jan 2, 2004 Updated: Jan 5, 2004Brown. large head. Aromas of citrus and banana, better aroma than most hefeweizens. Very little wheat in the flavor but lots of sweet malt. I would say it was an abby style if I didn't know better. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA Dec 30, 2003 amber color with a thick frothy white to light beige head. aroma is quite sour and i'm wondering if this is infected as many have said the Moonglow is. has the sour aroma, but the flavor is fairly sweet with banana and spice. stubby (325), Santee, California, USA Dec 28, 2003 Good fruity dunkle weisse. Makes a great finish to a round of golf. Light body and sweet fruitiness balanced by wheat bite and mild hop flavor. Great refresher. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Dec 14, 2003 Deep cloudy brown color with a whitish head. Wheat, banana aroma. Good balance and finish, with a malty kick to it. Overall pretty decent. Had this on tap at the Beer Sellar in Knoxville, TN. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA Dec 13, 2003 Light brown and cloudy. Big off white head. Clove dominates the nose with a slight, sharp citrus note. Big round flavor, with notes of clove, banana, and citrus. Decent, inexpensive, stand-by. drismyhero (815), Tacoma, Washington, USA Dec 12, 2003 Slightly cloudy amber color with minimal head retention. Filled with every wheat quality and then some...bananas, just a touch raisin, grains, and an overwhelmingly cleanliness in the flavor. Great balance and mouthfeel. My favorite weisse bier this last Oktoberfest. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Dec 9, 2003 Cloudy syrup brown color with a finger high frothy thick cream colored head that sticks around for a few minutes before crumbling down to a solid skim always present and drippy strings of lace with some minimal stickyness. Secure hefe nose of wheaty toastyness and clove spice with hints of apple skin and banana and some phenolic notes underneath. Taste is a toasted malt forthcoming in a pleasant full softness, playful and fluffy wheatyness with mild spice of clove and small notes of banana and melon husks. Feel is medium bodied with a nice soft fluffyness of nearly full carbonation that floats through the palate with ease and makes for some good drinking. OberonTheifEMT (56), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Dec 1, 2003 Wonderful sweet aroma of banana and clove. The pour was incredible, dark brown with a thick creamy head. This is what beer was ment to look like. The flavor is medium boddied with yeasty characteristics and a short malty finish. I'm not a huge fan of Hacker-Pschorr products, but I'd never turn this one away.
