Hazy brownish colour with a tan head. Sweet wheat and some banana in the nose. Rich flavour. Very sweet. Wheat, yeast, banana, light spicy and a solid malt background. One of the best dunkelweize I have had. [Bottle from Nurnberg in Germany]
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Bif (623) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - APR 15, 2012
Bottle- Pours a hazy dark bronze color with a good head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of banana, cloves and some spice and hint of malt sweetness. Taste of mild chocolate sweetness, with some banana and bit of spice. Has a mild bitterness in the background and a dry finish. Fairly light body, smooth a slightly creamy and refreshing. very nicely balanced. This is a good example of a Dunkelweizen. A relaxing beer that goes down way too easy. Well worth a try.

A really good one. Maybe it’s not totally objective because I really love Dukleweisse, but still...

Tap pours hazy brown with dense off white head. Aromas of bubblegum and grain are sweet. The taste is smooth and inviting, with the sweet grain complimenting the yeast. Most of the flavor seems yeasty with bubblegum, dark fruit like red grape, and some light clove and banana. Finishes a touch dry and on the grainy side but it is pretty solid for a spaten made dunkel wiezen.

Pours a cloudy orange amber with a rocky head that reduces to a long-lasting 1/4". Nice lacing that slides back into the beer. Taste is a fresh caramel malt with a touch of candied banana and Juicy Fruit gum. A light bitterness asserts itself at the finish. Very solid, very drinkable, very sessionable, recommended.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 rlaw (815) - Alabama, USA - FEB 11, 2012
Bottle. Pours a deep, hazy orangey amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malty and caramel, banana and clove. Flavor leans more toward the malt, but all the flavors seem a bit washed out. Understandable, though, since it was well past the drink-by date. Finishes dry. Farily light palate with fine carbonation.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 weihenweizen (759) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JAN 17, 2012
Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle produced in September 2010, poured into a weizen glass. Pours medium/light brown with tawny highlights with medium off-white head. Good small bubble lacing, light/medium body, and light carbonation. Taste is caramel malt, lots of banana, and a hit of sourness. Average dunkelweizen, but may have been a tad past its prime.
