2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BillKismet (2760) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 6, 2008
Bronze with an a luscious foam top that just poofs over the brim. Moderately grainy and noble hop aroma. Clean hop and reserved malt flavor. Medium-bodied. Almost antiseptic in flavor. Quaffable lager. Ok, but pedestrian.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 wilderthanyou (608) - Guelph, CANADA - SEP 27, 2008
Pours a pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is thin, a little metallic, citrus fruit, and cereal. The flavour is a little different, than i expected, a little too subtle, but refreshing, grainy, lightly malty sweet and a faint sour bitter finish. The palate is the interesting part of this beer, a mouthfeel that seems kind of alien to me, it seems like it almost floats on the tongue, slippery in a way, with a little bit of fizz. An interesting beer, just not bold enough to get high marks.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 14, 2008
Sampled on draught: Pours a bright clear golden colour with a large creamy white head. Initial taste is malty, with flavors of corn, grain and lemon. Slight yeast notes. Aroma is grassy and noticeably hopped.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (3760) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 29, 2008
500 ml bottle at the beer store in Toronto. Fruity, cereal aroma, slightly sweet, malty, with nice hops. Slightly buttery. Nice aroma. Rather light golden color, low, fine head. Malty, slightly sweet flavor, full flavor, grainy, biscuits. Medium hopping, nice balance though on the malt side. Slight hay/grass taste. Medium body, rather light body. Nice enough, though nothing really special.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 marchcow (664) - Coralville, Iowa, USA - AUG 14, 2008
Honeylike aroma with bits of lemon and hay. Golden color with dissipating head. Flavors are haylike malt, mildly sweet, some citrus qualities. Mild even palate with a sweet duration. Refreshing.

on tap at the castle on king from a one liter stine the i neither paid for or consumed the majority of but thanks to jessem i really feel i got the full experience of the brew. the aromas are very lagerish but not in the way that makes you say "oh shit another crappy lager", its more like "hey maybe jesse is right and lagers are so underated it makes me a little sad." pure pale maltiness with low AA hops that cant be ignored. had i ordered a one liter stine of this i would have enjoyed it to the last drop. the flavour is satifying without being overly complex. temendously balanced and drinkable. i wouldnt say that this brew is full bodied but the amount of flavour you get from this all malt lager is something that id consider special. although im not overly proud of this jesse really has made it almost impossible to just carlessly slam back lagers with no regard for the potential subtle complexity that can reside in world class examples such as this. overall ; VERY GOOD BEER!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 cyrenaica (799) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 19, 2008
500ml bottle
5.5% ABV
I tried this beer on July 1, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark gold with a bubbly white head. The aroma was grainy malt with a slight trace of hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium to high carbonation. The flavour was smooth with some grainy malt, some spice, and a slight hoppy bitter finish.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Skidds (252) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 6, 2008
Here is what a lager/pilsner should be all about, well balanced flavour, pleasant hoppy and malt aroma. Very pleasant dry finish. Bring it back to Canada!
