VeloVampire (375), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 3, 2008 500 ml bottle - pours very clear gold with almost a greenish tint; good, thick white head. Aroma crisp and sweet, a bit of skunk, but definitely not as much as some other Euro-lagers I’ve had. There’s a nice mild bready aroma under that though, which makes me think this would smell superb fresh, on tap. Nice hop balance in the nose as well. Smooth and grainy in the mouth, with a finish that verges on cloying, but doesn’t quite go there. Full-bodied and thick. This is a beer that is meant to be served up much like the label shows, but a trip to Munich is a bit out of my price range and the bottle was under three bucks, so for now, the bottle it is.

5.5% ABV
I tried this beer on July 1, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark gold with a bubbly white head. The aroma was grainy malt with a slight trace of hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium to high carbonation. The flavour was smooth with some grainy malt, some spice, and a slight hoppy bitter finish.
Skidds (127), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2008 Here is what a lager/pilsner should be all about, well balanced flavour, pleasant hoppy and malt aroma. Very pleasant dry finish. Bring it back to Canada! acrdz (4148), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2008 Draft at Der Pschorr in Munich. Crisp and lightly sweet, with a clean, sweet nose of pils malt, barely any hop presence, just clean pils malt, slightly sweet in flavor, very clean and refreshing. Well made.
